  1. I actually agree with the rule but I think he overuses it in situations where it's not necessary. I don't think Anderson deserved to be benched for this one. If you're gonna bench a guy for not hustling, you should consider all the factors involved with the play
  2. At least he took it well. I think the problem with that written description is that it discounts the very likely event that had Anderson ran and been safe, video review would've overturned it since the ball was actually caught on the fly.
  3. Yes, it is misleading. Anderson lined out to third but the umpire (incorrectly) ruled that it was a ground ball, so he had stopped running and the third baseman threw him out at first. Had Anderson ran it out and been safe, they would've just overturned it via video review since the ball was caught. If Renteria expects players to keep running when balls are clearly caught then we're gonna look foolish on the basepaths.
  4. ... Did you watch the play?
  5. The same Fangraphs that didn't consider Dylan Cease a top 130 prospect as of a month ago (yes I know they've since changed it)? I don't know what happened but it seems like they've gotten really lazy this year.
  6. Accidentally posted in trade winds instead of PHT. Can a mod please move?
  7. I can tell you from firsthand knowledge that this is true. I am aware of several tweets that have been deleted by White Sox prospects/players over the years that would've been unearthed lately. Many are still up, actually
  8. Providing a statistic to show that Adam Duvall is not a good hitter isn't moving the goalposts; in fact, it's actually doing what you asked me to do. But I'm glad you're amused.
  9. Duvall is a career 96 wRC+ hitter at 29 years old. Not sure this is the hill you want to die on.
  10. Who let the Cubs troll create an account?
  11. FWIW, Avilan is better and has an extra year of control
  12. We were also serious contenders for Tanaka a few years ago, and A-Rod in 2001. It's not like we've never offered > $68MM.
  13. I see your point now. And I agree
  14. Then throw it out the window because pretty much everything they've done since December of 2016 would contradict your evidence.
  15. What contract? He's owed like $3 million for the rest of his career. The rest is covered by the Padres.
  16. Well, one of those guys has 197 PAs, the other has 429...
