  1. Then we're back to square one where you're overreacting to a small sample size that isn't indicative of how he's actually hitting. Nevermind the fact that he has a .341 OBP in that span.
  2. Yes- the better option is making Leury the everyday CF and calling up Saunders to spell Palka/Thompson from the corners. Then again, Thompson has been just as bad as Engel. I miss Avi.
  3. Clear his mind from... what? That's something you do when somebody is struggling, typically
  4. I get where you're coming from but if he can hone his base stealing game before we're good, he can really be a force on the basepaths when we are indeed good.
  5. Maybe but I'd hope that if he's healthy enough to play, he's healthy enough to steal. Otherwise why even play him and risk further injury?
  6. Moncada hasn't been attempting steals in a long time. Not sure why
  7. The Orioles roster is basically the team we'd have if that small, vocal segment of posters got their way every year. After some time of consecutive "all in" seasons, you're left with this graveyard.
  8. Here we go again... have you not learned? He has been fine. A 38 AB sample size is irrelevant unless he's been striking out all the time, which he hasn't been.
  9. I don't understand the fascination with a AAA, hitter's park pitcher's ERA in May. If you really care about it, his ERA would be 2.92 if it were not for that one disastrous start the other week.
  10. I think many, myself included, want him for his hitting and his defense, which was arguably elite at 3B. But given how bad he is at SS, his value would be significantly worse if that's where he winds up playing.
  11. Here are the stats for shortstop defense in 2018. Clearly, Anderson has shot up from the bottom of the list, where he was around the end of April. There are improvements in UZR, defensive value, and DRS, where he has crept out of the negative range. He has been improving defensively throughout the season while Manny Machado, who many can't wait to kick Tim out of SS, has been abysmal out there. I'd love for us to sign Machado but I think he's a disaster at SS and putting him there on a (supposedly) contending team would be very unwise. Anderson is the better SS defender by far. Manny simply doesn't have the range to play SS.
  12. Just be happy that I didn't include Abreu/Robert/Adolfo whoever bats after Eloy bunting him home with 2 outs
  13. When Machado bunts Moncada to 2nd so that Eloy can bunt him to 3rd ?
  14. Remember that one time that one guy made that one bad play? Yeah, he sucks at defense because of that one play.
  15. Are they, though? Our organization seems to have a weird, unexplainable crush on him
