  1. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 08:35 PM) We are really weak at SS still. Basically Dickman and Curbelo. Amado Nunez could pan out, and I still have faith that 2018 post-mourning Tim Anderson is a better player.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 08:07 PM) Well, we aren't getting any top flight talent out of what is left. Now it comes down to drafting and scouting. Right, I meant there will be more depth type guys behind the big names we have that will at least add some sort of protection. And, the draft pick.
  3. No, he hasn't, but there are still many trades to be made and I'm sure those will be focused on offensive prospects. Not to mention our top-3 pick next year will likely be a position player as well.
  4. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 03:21 PM) Mayo says burger, sheets, and skoug will all be top 100 on new list That Skoug fell all the way to the 7th round still baffles me.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 03:15 PM) Cubs had the young players to survive that and Chapman is a game-changer 1.5 years of Robertson + .5 years of Swarzak + 3.5 years of Kahnle >>>>>>>>>>>>> .5 years of Chapman
  6. QUOTE (Tony @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 01:57 PM) This is awesome https://www.instagram.com/p/BWf1FIhg6oK/ sad*
  7. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 01:00 PM) Aren't the cubs looking for relief help? Wonder if another deal for a Sox reliever could happen between Sox/cubs. Before this was announced, there were rumblings that Kahnle was a part of it
  8. QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 12:41 PM) We got their #1 (Jimenez) and #4 (Cease) prospects for a mediocre pitcher. Plus we got two throw in players. As a Sox fan I LOVE this trade! Isn't it their #1 and #2?
  9. QUOTE (beautox @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 12:24 PM) I expect 4-7 more trades before the deadline and I think we wind up with 2 more top 100 prospects when its all said and done. Additionally I think Fulmer falls off the top 100 but Hansen takes his place. 4-7? I sure hope so, but that seems optimistic to me. The only "sure things" IMO are Robertson and Frazier. Probably Swarzak, too.
  10. Throughout the rebuild, I've always thought that we'll be competitive sooner than most think due to the current positions of our prospects. My guess: 2017- 60 to 70 wins 2018- 75ish wins 2019- 80 to 87 wins, potential WC berth 2020- 90+ wins, beginning of true contending period
  11. QUOTE (Tony @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 11:08 AM) Ask this question on Aug 1. Hopefully the answer then is "Absolutely" ^
  12. This is harder for me than Sale because Quintana, IMO, is a much more likable person. He just went about his business, every 5 days, stayed quiet, did his job well. Imagine all the bad luck- constant bad defense behind him, no run support, etc. that he dealt with. The fact that he never once complained about any of that and always remained positive and professional is remarkable.
  13. Dan Hayes‏Verified account @CSNHayes #WhiteSox had considered holding Jose Quintana out of start in Denver bc of talks w/ another club. Those, however, didn't get far enough.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 10:48 AM) There goes our chances at the Wild Card Gregg?
  15. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 10:45 AM) So I guess Quintana loved Drake too, huh? I still can't believe we actually got Eloy. That's awesome.
  16. Those reddit posts I linked were right... interesting
  17. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 11:44 PM) If we get a guy like Jimenez, Brinson, or Acuna, we are likely not going to have heard of anyone else in the deal. I'm not convinced any of those guys are even on the table. The sooner we all admit that Quintana isn't going to bring a Sale-like return, the better. There have been multiple sources reporting from different angles for months now all indicating that this is the case. I really think everyone on the board should be absolutely stoked if we get a top20 prospect in a deal and shouldn't expect to get a second piece any better than a back-end 100 guy at most. Couple lotteries after that. I'm not saying it should or shouldn't be this way, I'm just saying it very likely IS this way. I thought this way myself, but given the enormous market for Quintana, I am convinced that a team will bite and give us a package with a top-20 guy and a top-80 second guy.
  18. Next up on the random internet false rumor tour, that B-Mad guy is implying that we're getting Bregman.
  19. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 10:45 PM) Sorry late to the party been working all day, so what did these tweet say. And the DanB guys Twitter says no pros are included so that means no Happ or Schwarber if he's legit. So probably Cease, Jimenez, Cadlareo, and who? And this is not a great package IMO Jimenez is definitely not the main piece I'd want out of those talked about. Just interested in hearing what led to this Cubs hype? All the reddit and DanB stuff is probably unreliable, but check out rabbit's post on page 36. Also, WhiteSoxDave tweeted some teaser video just talking about Quintana and the Cubs, but it may not mean anything.
  20. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 10:16 PM) Nice I was hoping KatyPerrysBootyhole would chime in. The reddit user's source just commented on the post, and I bet you were hoping for this one too.
  21. "Hey guys, take this with a grain of salt, but I heard from a friend who's brothers friend works for the cubs (sounds like bulls*** I know), that Q is going to the cubs in exchange for 4 players. Has anyone heard anything similar?"
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 10:00 PM) So did the deleted tweet say anything about Q or was it just about an unexpected trade looming Depends on who you ask, but in reality, probably the latter
