  1. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 01:22 PM) I went to a Rodon v Yankees game two years ago. Let's hope it turns out better than that one. If memory serves, the great Adam LaRoche fired a scoreless inning of relief that night.
  2. Phil Rogers on MLBN today said 8-10 teams are in on him, and the Braves in particular are very interested.
  3. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 11:37 AM) Has there been any updates on him lately? I think his return should be in August
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 12:29 PM) I thought he was a definite starter. I thought he showed good power for a second baseman and had a clue at the plate and could actually hit .300 in the big leagues with excellent production. This year convinced me I was wrong. He was pathetic before he got hurt. He had been hurt all year, and was playing through it. I wouldn't worry too much about his 2017 performance for that reason.
  5. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 11:07 AM) There's new baseballs? https://theringer.com/2017-mlb-home-run-spi...al-155cd21108bc
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 10:48 AM) I still think Quintana has been screwed by the unannounced raising of the strike zone (low strikes getting called less frequently) that has caused him to experiment with other areas (high and inside). He seems to have corrected this by including the changeup more low? I'm sure this, coupled with the new baseballs, factored into his slow start.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 09:47 AM) I know there is some hard core hindsight going on here, but there was literally not a single person who wanted the Sox to keep Tyler Flowers. None. I wanted us to keep him not because I thought he would break out offensively, but because his framing/game managing alone + occasional home run already made him one of the more valuable catchers in the league. Catchers who are good offensively are not easy to find in the first place, so when you have one who's great at framing and only subpar offensively, that's a solid catcher. I guess we learned that the hard way here.
  8. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 11:35 PM) Regardless we are going to have a boatload of IF'ers. Leury, Yolmer, Hansen and Saladino plus Moncada coming up at some point. Not to mention our SS Anderson I think Sanchez or Leury gets traded at the deadline. I don't know how else playing time will work once Moncada is up.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 26, 2017 -> 09:32 PM) fWAR down to -.4 Nice reverse-jinx.
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 26, 2017 -> 03:38 PM) Oh great, someone else who will mention Devenski every other thread. Fernando Tatis Jr!!!!
  11. QUOTE (zisk @ Jun 26, 2017 -> 12:57 PM) Small sample size,league has figured him out. Whatever you do just don't throw him a strike . He was productive in a sense in the minors in that he improved but his obp was always Mediocre even with a good ba.that 3 months of Defense last year is the best you will ever see from him. Bring back alexi. Tim Anderson's cool He will certainly improve Enjoyed this haiku?
  12. People giving it low grades due to lack of trades would be giving it even lower grades if Hahn had accepted the trades that were offered to him after Sale/Eaton.
  13. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jun 25, 2017 -> 11:54 AM) Astros for sure, but that Rockies package is interesting. Give me Dahl instead of McMahon and Almonte and I'd much prefer the Rockies. Or Dahl instead of Almonte, and Sox throw in a reliever. Heck, I'd give them Robertson. What's wrong with McMahon? With the way he's playing this year, he's probably my favorite piece after Rogers.
  14. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 24, 2017 -> 10:50 AM) Which offer do you take for Q: Astros - Tucker, Paulino, Fisher, Colin Moran Dodgers - Verdugo, Calhoun, Buehler, Kyle Farmer Rockies - Rodgers, Tapia, McMahon, Almonte Yankees - Frazier/Rutherford, Mateo, Sheffield, Florial Which deals would require a + (be it Frazier for the Yankees, relievers for the others) to get it done, how much, etc. Rockies, easily. Probably would be Quintana + Kahnle and maybe even more
  15. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jun 23, 2017 -> 12:25 PM) I want to believe in Davidson being real, it's just really odd that he struggled so hard out of nowhere in 2014/15 but the line he is hitting at is pretty much what he has done the rest of his minors career The new baseballs are probably a big boost to his numbers.
  16. I think Moncada will be the everyday 2B by the end of this season, and thus on Opening Day as well.
  17. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 11:09 PM) Brown, #3, Brooklyn's 2018 #1, & Kings 2019. That would definitely get declined, but I know a guy who could get you Kris Dunn, a draft pick, and a guy with a torn ACL with 1 year on his contract.
  18. QUOTE (Carlo Paz @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 08:07 AM) Didn't his best friend get murdered earlier this year? That kind of thing can have a serious effect on someone's focus. ^
