  1. The lack of rumors is kind of puzzling.
  2. Yes, they are going to blow it. I know there's still time but it would be so unlike us to make big trades. Maybe a Robertson one but that's all. Hope I'm wrong.
  3. Pete Abraham ‏@PeteAbe 2m2 minutes ago The fact they're meeting in the dugout in full view of several beat writers would seem to suggest nothing is imminent. But we'll see. Pete Abraham ‏@PeteAbe 6m6 minutes ago Meeting now expanded to include Frank Wren, Allard Baird and Brian O'Halloran. Pete Abraham ‏@PeteAbe 14m14 minutes ago Dave Dombrowski, Mike Hazen and John Farrell now meeting in Anaheim.
  4. Heyman: Dodgers not looking at Sale much anymore
  5. QUOTE (Bruce_Blixton @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 12:26 PM) A difficult proposition for someone growing up in the North Shore. That's what I said, but a Cardinals article written when he was drafted assured fans that he did not grow up a Cubs fan, but rather a White Sox fan
  6. With Robertson as good as gone now, I wonder if it's in a package with Sale
  7. Robertson was the lone Sox reliever to not warm up before the game today.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 12:13 PM) I totally see the Sox trying to get Dermis Garcia in a deal with the Yankees. ALL. THE. GARCIAS.
  9. Robert Murray ‏@RobertMurrayFRS 18s19 seconds ago Cody Bellinger and Alex Verdugo not in the Double-A Tulsa Drillers lineup today, for what it's worth. #Dodgers

  11. Honestly zero of the NYY prospects that aren't from CLE/CHC hold any appeal to me. They just seem like your run of the mill minor leaguers who are supposedly amazing prospects just because they're in the NY system.
  12. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 11:26 AM) Not bad at all. Duke wasn't part of the long term future anyway, and the Sox were able to get his contract off the books too. I don't know much about Tilson, but I'd be happy if he was a Denard Span or Ben Revere type with good defense. He basically profiles as a Span/Revere type (best-case scenario) with average defense. I'd be happy with that too
  13. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 11:08 AM) Need both Severino and Bird. And Aaron Judge. Edit: and probably Sheffied. Yeah I agree, I meant to say that it wasn't enough for him
  14. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 10:56 AM) I'll take them. The OF from the Indians, the SS from the Cubs, add Sanchez and one of the other Yankee top prospects (plus some minor stuff). Plenty of Bosox prospects have turned sour too. Frazier, Torres, Sanchez, and one of Severino/Bird for Chris Sale? Lmao
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 10:17 AM) Since no one has said it, I am scared of the historical overrated nature of Yankees prospects. Yeah, the Yankees potential package does not seem good at all to me. Severino, Bird, and Judge are definitely overrated.
  16. I like that he's fundamentally sound, a good contact hitter, and speedy. Those are the kind of guys we need.
  17. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 01:51 PM) I think Duke goes as well BOOM
  18. In other news, here's a snapchat I just received from Yoan Moncada!
  19. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 10:52 PM) Ok, this is the ONE instance where I'd say you need to package Robertson with Sale to convince Dombrowski. Please let it be so. I agree, I should've been more specific but that would be for Sale AND Robertson/Duke or some reliever of that nature. Take the reliever out and I wouldn't accept anything less for Sale than Moncada, Benintendi, Devers, Kopech, and Vazquez. Shaw and Rodriguez were players I threw in for Robertson or the reliever in the deal.
  20. QUOTE (Two-Gun Pete @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 10:51 PM) Off the top of my head, that actually may not be enough, when you add up the current & surplus value. At the same time, Boston might not need a ~2 WAR SP for the rest of this season to compete. I think it's impossible to get a "fair" package for Sale, you're right. However, I do think that a calculated risk such as the package I just outlined has the potential to be a fair return for Sale, and it could be better than keeping him on a mediocre team with no direction.
  21. QUOTE (Two-Gun Pete @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 10:42 PM) Ok. Go ahead & add up his current & surplus value, then come up with: 1. A package that will be fair value, & 2. A team able to make such an offer, & 3. A GM with enough cajones to thoroughly gut their org for 'one guy.' I can see Dombrowski getting worried and offering Moncada, Benintendi, Kopech, Devers, Vazquez, Rodriguez, and Shaw.
  22. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 03:53 PM) In all probability, I think it's a given he uses the word considering. "In all probability" is a token Hahn phrase, too. I expect him to drop that 4-6 times as well.
