  1. Abreu says he eats at Home Run Inn Pizza every night
  2. Chuck Garfien ‏@ChuckGarfien 14m When Jose Abreu was 1, his parents took him to get his portrait. He saw a badminton racket and on his own he got into a hitter's pose.
  3. Chuck Garfien ‏@ChuckGarfien 19m In Cuba, Jose Abreu offered to catch 1 day, but he didn't have a cup. He got a foul tip in the area and said "I’ll never catch in my life."
  4. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 12:28 PM) No, it's just based on your own team's games, but the Sox have played 96 so Sale is one inning short. I glanced at the Sox record and it said 44-50. Didn't realize that was 2 days old.
  5. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 12:21 PM) Yesterday was the Sox' 96th game, so Sale was the AL ERA leader up until the 5th inning was completed. Now he isn't. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 12:23 PM) The Dodgers have played 97 games. I believe that's the most in the league. Thus, to technically be qualified for the ERA title right now, a pitcher must have throw 97 innings. My bad Hickory, and I didn't know that wite, thanks
  6. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 12:21 PM) So somebody asked on facebook who a better hitter is between Puig and Abreu. Pretty close, I'd like to hear your guys thoughts. Abreu
  7. Felix named starter tomorrow. It says he has the lowest ERA in the AL. I checked, and Sale has a lower ERA. To qualify, he must have 1 IP for every Sox game. He has 95 IP in 94 games. Someone explain this to me?
  8. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 09:43 PM) Who's gonna play SS? Good point. Possibilities include L. Garcia, Beckham, M. Johnson, Sanchez, Saladino... but none are really that good at SS
  9. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 11:54 AM) According to John Saunders on this morning's ESPN Sports Reporters, Nelson Cruz is the major league leader in home runs. I guess that means 28 > 29. Annoying. Same thing happened on MLB Tonight
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 08:29 PM) I'm sure when Abreu hits a homer that just barely makes it out the pitcher goes "In another park, that stays in!" Yeah, who cares about all this. A home run is a home run.
  11. By the way you can remove the question mark, other sources have backed this up
  12. I remember we got 5 or 6 runs off of him last year, when he was on the Jays
  13. Any word on Carroll's/Alexei's health?
  14. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 09:13 PM) So...Sale to start the game? I think Felix will get it. Unless he starts on Sunday
  15. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 06:03 PM) Belisario. You guys ready to name other pitchers from the bullpen that could have been put in instead? Let's see. Guerra and Petricka pitched yesterday. Surkamp and Webb were used already. I'd save Rienzo for potential extras. So the answer is Putnam.
  16. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 05:59 PM) If only we had a real option at catcher. AJP sitting patiently by his phone
  17. All 4 of Gillaspie's HRs have come in the last 10 days
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 05:14 PM) Not a lot of talent in the lineup for the Sox today. Only the first 5 guys deserve a spot in the majors. not Beckham
  19. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 04:56 PM) We've had our share of guys in the rotation, over the years, who didn't get proper run support...but I can't remember it being this bad, in quite some time. Chris Sale, 2013
  20. Entering today, Quintana would have a 2.87 ERA if he didn't have his terrible 6-run start vs KC
  21. Dan Hayes ‏@DanHayesCSN 1m Official scorer awards Jose Abreu a stolen base, the first of his career.
