  1. Awkward. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1859471...amming-national
  2. Yankees or Red Sox will get him, and he's suddenly the best baseball player ever and the whole steroid thing was false (Ortiz) according to ESPN and every fan. A great guy off the field.
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 20, 2013 -> 07:22 AM) Even then, the strikeout difference is 200, and that is attributed to one player, Adam Dunn(189). Not the myth that is Ozzie Ball. Ozzie Ball was a really good pitching staff, not an offensive Philosophy/system What about Jim Thome?
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 20, 2013 -> 06:34 AM) Justin Morneau & Derek Jeter took PEDs? No, but I'm saying he still could've won. His stats were still good.
  5. QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 19, 2013 -> 11:01 PM) Very interesting. I would have been very in favor of us bringing him on at 1 year 8 million. Shows Hahn is looking/expecting to trade a SP because I doubt we would have gone with: 1 Sale 2 Qunitana 3 Johnson 4 Danks 5 Hector 6 Johnson 7 Rienzo Well, chances are one of Johnson and Rienzo would be in the minors. Also, you put Johnson twice. My bad, Josh and Erik. (edit)
  6. Aaaaannnnnndddd Josh Johnson to San Diego for 1/8M
  7. QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 19, 2013 -> 10:43 PM) 2 year 10 mil+. Could be a good deal for Cleveland. Especially in this market. Believe it or not he's had a handful of pretty good years. I know he has, but it's still a risk. Keppinger-like, in a way, except Keppinger played well in 2012.
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 19, 2013 -> 10:35 PM) It was the 5th most home runs in the LEAGUE. And you just disproved your own Ozzie ball theory. Ozzie had teams that could hit it out of the park, period. Just because he gave away outs sometimes doesn't mean his teams didn't have power Well, we were also discussing strikeouts, and if you compare Ozzie's time to Robin's so far, we have far more strikeouts per season then we used to with Ozzie ball.
  9. His stats and MVP results- www.baseball-reference.com/players/t/thomafr04.shtml
  10. That's right, good point ^^. Hell, he could've even won in 06 with Oakland.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 19, 2013 -> 10:01 PM) Really? http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/CH...ml?mobile=false 200 isn't a lot? Well, compared to other Ozzie years, no. http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/CH...8-batting.shtml http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/CH...6-batting.shtml
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 19, 2013 -> 09:55 PM) Ozzie ball contained a lot of home runs Not in 05
  13. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Nov 19, 2013 -> 09:45 PM) Why do people put De Aza on the sucked/ship him out list? He's a 2 to 3 WAR guy who's cheap. What is wrong with this? If you dont like him leading off then the problem is just him leading off. For what he costs, the problems lie elsewhere on this team. I agree. If he could just fix that god-awful baserunning and maybe get a slightly better glove...
  14. David Murphy to Cleveland. *crosses name off just-in-case-we-totally-blow-it-list*
  15. He also said, "I have confidence in Rick Hahn," Thomas said. "He's a good guy. But maybe he's lacking the heartbeat of the locker room. I always thought baseball guys should be assistant GMs. But he's not the only one. There are lots of guys out there who study all the statistics."
  16. http://www.csnchicago.com/white-sox/frank-...-four-more-mvps I think maybe two more. One for sure in 2000. Not so sure about four, though. Which years do you think he's referring to? His stats and MVP results (in right column): www.baseball-reference.com/players/t/thomafr04.shtml
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 19, 2013 -> 09:24 PM) With 100 home runs, sure I'll take that many Ks. Have we forgotten the ways of Ozzie Ball?
  18. Keep in mind that Abreu and Dunn will combine for 400 strikeouts as well. Do we really want to make that 575/600?
  19. O's interested in Gavin Floyd. Seems like a Baltimore kind of guy; their whole rotation is pretty much a bunch of #3 and #4 starters every year (rare exceptions such as Tillman who is a #2).
  20. Alright, it's good that Konerko's decision hasn't "hamstrung" our plans. Hinting at a Paulie hamstring injury, Hahn?
  21. Are we still likely to make a run at him like we were the day this thread was posted? Did the Abreu signing completely diminish the chances of a Granderson to the White Sox signing?
  22. Minor league contract; left had a great 2.13 ERA in 2013 but walked 6 batters per 9 innings. Alex Liddi followed by David Purcey? I think that's all we need. We're ready to contend.
  23. Ray Olmedo? What exactly is the point of this thread?
  24. .272, 111/527 over 8 minor league years. Has seen glimpses of the majors. http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/p...id=liddi-001ale
  25. Having a switch hitter in the starting lineup would be nice, though
