  1. To me I have no problem with the Sox asking him to dial it back. Its a business not a day care. Seems the Sox did everything they could and making it comfortable for Drake to be there. But Laroche is payed to play and produce but he didn't last year. If he was embarrassed of the way he played last year you would think he would be more embarrassed that his kid has to watch him play like crap. I'm sure things might not go well in the club house at times but having the kid sit there all time and possibly see that stuff isn't very good either.
  2. Sources: LaRoche chose to retire after #WhiteSox prez Ken Williams told him that he no longer could bring 14-year-old son into clubhouse. LaRoche’s son, Drake, 14, has traveled with him for several years. Adam, in a Chicago Tribune story last year, called him team’s “26th man.” https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/710181386380947456 LaRoche’s friend, #Brewers pitcher Blaine Boyer: “He’s an unbelievable father, an unbelievable husband, a friend you can only dream of.” https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/710181602412769280 Boyer added: “I honestly think this is between good and evil. I know which side Adam lives on. I’m thankful to see the way he’s acting… https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/710181745233006592 “…it’s an unbelievable test of who he is, the husband he is, the father he is.” https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/710181821770702848 Source: LaRoche told #WhiteSox yesterday he would take a “couple of days” before making final decision on retirement. https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/710182825836711936

  5. http://www.csnchicago.com/white-sox/whats-...oche-retirement Talks about some possible replacement ideas
  6. Rollins on LaRoche "He’s done well for himself...and he said he had enough. Once you get to that point it’s hard to talk a guy out of that." https://twitter.com/ChiTribKane/status/709875838263566336 Rollins (37) on LaRoche:'He was going to give himself a chance. And he's dealing with back issues again, u start weighing those things out' https://twitter.com/CST_soxvan/status/709875702124773380
  7. With my belief of the Sox possibly being short a bat before but even more so now. Your big bats are Abreu/Frazier, then lawrie. After that you got Melky and eaton. Hoping avi gets better offensively and Rollins can play fully really makes the Sox offense worrisome. They really need to get another bat and probably more so being lefty.
  8. http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/jose-ab...-for-white-sox/ Another article about the better club house this year. Seems hopefully they will more lively this year.

  10. Scott Kazmir looked awful in a B game this morning vs the White Sox but this Chris Sale kid might have a future. https://twitter.com/keithlaw/status/709445828910256128
  11. #whitesox at Royals lineups https://t.co/t1vKQouPpq https://twitter.com/CST_soxvan/status/709402639612575745
  12. Update: Sale threw 75 pitches (46 strikes) today in B game vs LAD. https://twitter.com/whitesox/status/709442413375430656 Chris Sale's B game line: 4.1 IP 4 H 2 ER 2 BB 4 K 1 HBP. Threw 75 pitches, 46 for strikes. #WhiteSox https://twitter.com/CST_soxvan/status/709442263441498112
  13. Saladino and Rollins can play 2nd as well as ss and 3rd. Lawrie can back up 3rd so I really dont see Sanchez making it. Saw that Shuck it's pretty much on the roster in some reports. So that probably leaves avi unless he gets traded or sent down as the last roster spot.
  14. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/03/fina...medium=facebook According to this the Sox are 10 and 26
  15. http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/i...r-for-white-sox I do wish he would work on more stolen bases. Use that speed
  16. QUOTE (coco1997 @ Mar 13, 2016 -> 03:27 PM) Where's Mark Buehrle when you need him? Probably still available. Don't think he retired yet
  17. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 13, 2016 -> 02:50 PM) None at all. Ideally, I think it's better if Turner and Fulmer start in the rotation. Fulmer hasn't been that great sofar in spring
  18. Chisox sought desmond for SS late for "north of" alexei's 4M, but when he didn't take it spent 10M on latos/rollins/ajax https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/708684360505888769
  19. QUOTE (Scoots @ Mar 11, 2016 -> 03:59 PM) Some positive things coming from the Sox so far. Here are their Spring Stats according to MLB.com as of the games on March 10th. OFFENSE: AVG: .291 (8th MLB/4th AL) HR: 16 (2nd MLB/ 2nd AL) Doubles: 23 (T5th MLB/3rd AL) Runs: 53 (11th MLB/ 5th AL) SLG: .542 (1st MLB) OPS: .878 (4th MLB/3rd AL) Obviously they have done well hitting, but their pitching is currently 26th (according to ERA) and their defense is actually pretty good with a .983 fielding pct, which is good for 9th MLB/ 5th AL. I think the pitching stats aren't a big area of concern because a lot of the runs scored against, at least from what I have seen, have come against pitchers that won't be on the major league roster come April, and our starters have been fairing decently. I am psyched about this offense (especially Avi), as even Rollins is showing some pop. Thoughts guys? 4 more homeruns today now up to 20 sofar

  21. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Mar 10, 2016 -> 11:52 AM) It's been like 4. But in the paper I read this morning it said he'd play Saturday. Ya saw somewhere online about possibly this weekend for Jackson
  22. Lineup vs texas CWS 3/10 in Surprise: May 8, C. Sanchez 4, Frazier 5, Ishikawa 3, A. Garcia 9, Avila 2, Sands 7, Hawkins DH, Saladino 6, Quintana LHP https://twitter.com/scottmerkin/status/707977108409028608 Lineup vs Royals CWS 3/10 vs. Royals: Eaton DH, Rollins 6, Lawrie 4, Shuck 9, Davidson 5, H. Sanchez 2, Olt 3, Coats 7, L. Garcia 8, Fulmer RHP https://twitter.com/scottmerkin/status/707977385262514176 For those who can't see the twitter links
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 10, 2016 -> 10:51 AM) Probably not. Though that group will make it closer than Bruce alone. I'm not saying bruce is the answer is just really believe they might still be a big bat away still.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 10, 2016 -> 10:40 AM) And they got a lot more bang from their buck getting new catchers, Latos, Jackson, and Rollins instead of just Bruce. But is that going to be enough
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 10, 2016 -> 09:15 AM) There are $12.5 million reasons that Jay Bruce isn't going to happen. This screams of writers trying to make a fit where one really doesn't exist. Thats amount isn't far from what the White Sox spent in free agency this offseason.
