QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 25, 2016 -> 04:07 PM) i don't know about bruce, i look at his stats and he seems to be not performing as he was 3 yrs ago. is he declining, injury too much, i just can't figure this out, but then again we are talking about cincy, the price to get him will be too much. Supposedly the price for bruce isn't high according to the almost 3 team trade involving him. Honestly of you look at Bruce's career stats and Fraziers they almost have put up the same avg, obp, slugging, and ops. Tho bruce has 2000+ more plate appearances then Frazier.

Heard from #WhiteSox they actually hold picks 10, 27 and 49, not 48. #WeRegetTheError https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/702924842270523392

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Feb 24, 2016 -> 08:39 PM) I understand the frustration but then I look around the league at moves other teams have made that failed and realise it's not just the White Sox. For example, look at the Yankees, Boston and the Dodgers and the contracts they are stuck with, the Yanks especially. I'd bet the Yanks would love to go back in time and not sign a few players. At one point during the winter, I had read an article that speculated the Yanks would like to move Ellsbury to try and sign one of the big four. So I went and looked Ellsbury up on BR and FG to see if there could be a potential fit in a trade between the Sox and Yanks. I ame to the conclusion of, "f*** that", really fast! His numbers are steadily declining while under contract through 2020 and making 21M+ per season. Nope, the Yanks can have that contract and looking at that made me feel better about the contracts of LaRoche and Melky. There's also CC, Tex and ARod to go with Ellsbury. I much prefer the White Sox FO approach to free agents than the Yankees and some other teams. IMHO, the Yanks have proven that sometimes it's better to not sign that top flight FA rather than be saddled with a lengthy and costly contract. But the issue is Sox don't want to give out the big contract or length to get the big free agent they need but at the same time can't develop the big time player either. They are stuck in the middle and it's eventually going to cost them if they don't make the playoffs and end up having to trade sale and probably Abreu .

Orioles DO NOT Sign Fowler
I really honestly believe they need a lh run producing bat. Fowler didnt do well vs right handers last year. If Laroche doesn't bounce back the only real run producers in the lineup up is Abreu and frazier. They need another potent bat to extend the lineup

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 23, 2016 -> 08:46 AM) Isn't Saunders knee the reason the trade didn't work? Source: Medical concerns in Bruce deal involved #BlueJays minor leaguer, not Saunders. Player presumably was going to CIN. Trade off for now https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/702130975304716288

Looks like the three team trade is dead now. Tho bruce is still available. That said: The Reds have shown a willingness to trade Jay Bruce for a not-so-big return, and other teams could pounce knowing price is low. https://twitter.com/JeffPassan/status/701997921940742146 If Bruce's trade value isn't huge what do you use guys think of him or should white sox go after him

Latos still has fluid on knee, might not make opening day
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 21, 2016 -> 12:23 PM) I am sure it is true. Whether it is a huge issue, who knows. I'm sure it might be true but haven't seen it might cause him to possibly miss opening day.

So I really haven't seen much else said about the fluid on the knee from other writers. Only place it's come up is daily Herald. Not sure how much I can buy into this

When done, Gallardo/O's deal gives #WhiteSox the 27th pick in draft. Also adds about $30K to their signing bonus pool based on '15 figures. https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/701196610664079361

Hahn press conference notes
I would have been fine will saladino but if they would have gotten Fowler or get another bat that isnt a run producing bat for RF then they need to upgrade ss as well offensively. I think saladino is good defensively but I can't see him doing very well offensively. There are too many hopes of guys rebounding to career norms and others that gave come over hopping they maintain or improve. Still kinda leary of the offenseish

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 19, 2016 -> 01:49 PM) Yes, that seems to be the company line. Stone was going on and on about a lefty bat a month ago. He seemed disappointed Chris Davis was no longer available. I think they just need an upgrade. Here comes De Aza lol

Best Shape of his Life Thread
You know every year we get these articles about players being in the best shape of their life. When are we going to start getting articles of players are in the best hitting, pitching or defense spot in their lives lol. Avi could be in the best shape of his life but if he can't hit the ball or catch it then sure doesn't matter about the shape he's in
