  1. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Dec 30, 2015 -> 07:07 PM) @PatrickHoward50 "Hearing talks broke down because Yoenis Cespedes wants a 6-year deal, while White Sox only want to offer 5. Upton out of picture. (Pt. 1)." "White Sox still prefer Cespedes, may circle back to Alex Gordon if K.C. offer is low. White Sox willing to add 5th year to Gordon contract." ...So, I think that says all it does needs to about that whole saga in terms of his tweets last night. I think he's just going off of ideas after new stuff came out from National writers
  2. @ChiSoxraBBit White Sox will not go over $100 million -- just a guess https://twitter.com/scottmerkin/status/681912628512436227 This is what that actually tweet said.
  3. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/white-sox/...breus-attention Abreu sees Cespedes as a good fit
  4. QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 30, 2015 -> 01:04 PM) This is from someone in a position to get info but I don't know if I can trust. The two numbers he threw out were 5/108 and 6/125. Take with whatever amount of salt you like. Scott Merkin told me the Sox won't go over 100 million. Didn't Merkin say that Sox won't go over 100 million as being just a guess

  8. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 08:22 PM) @barstoolWSD No bulls***, I have it on very good authority that the White Sox and Yo are "close" This guy actually has some credibility. @PatrickHoward50 I was just told 6/125 https://twitter.com/barstoolWSD/status/682022766078504961
  9. QUOTE (Sockin @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 07:59 PM) More smoke, second person claiming Cespedes will sign with the Sox. @rickslat123 Multiple sources: Yoenis Cespedes @ynscspds has told White Sox he will sign with them. Deal worth north of 110 million. #mlb https://twitter.com/rickslat123/status/682015844033937408 Fake Ken Rosenthal said sox get Cespedes too lol. So there 3 peeps

  11. Just saying stay away from the fake Ken Rosenthal twitter account
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 02:07 PM) This is not true, rosenthal, nightengale, heyman dont name who their sources are. If anyone starts naming their sources, then they dont have sources anymore. Apparently didnt fully read what I said. I said you can name the source or if you can't or don't want just say the word source. Yes they all have used the word source when they break information
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 01:55 PM) It works two ways. A lot of information from insiders is totally made up in a way that they hope if it gets out will be beneficial to the team. Rabbit doesn't have 2 million followers, and isn't trying to be the next Ken Rosenthal, so you have to figure he isn't making stuff up. You make enough up that makes sense, something is bound to come true, and you get your props for being first. And he doesn't have the following on Twitter or Soxtalk that it could make a difference by him getting fed misinformation. Teams and agents use these guys to their advantage all the time. Heyman is Boras' puppet. I have a friend of a friend who is a great source, however, I don't have much access. 10 years ago, I found out KW's target was Tim Hudson of Oakland. I was so excited, I put it on this site. 20 minutes later, Hudson gets traded to Atlanta. I got torched as a phony. There was a poster named steff who supposedly had inside connections and she blasted my post as total BS , the Sox would never deal with Oakland because of Moneyball...I was vindicated when KW said no one tried harder to acquire one of the then Big 3 than him. Thats why you got to say what source it's from or if you can't say exactly who then just say info is from a source. Saying it that way tries to protect your credibility and can say well the source was wrong. If you notice alot of the bigger writers state source or other outlets to cover their butts.
  14. It's not Wednesday yet. Will have to be patient lol
  15. QUOTE (blackmooncreeping @ Dec 28, 2015 -> 10:09 AM) 30 hr's between Avi and Melky would be a lot to expect: Melky hasn't hit double digit longballs since 2009 (when he hit 13), and Avi's career high total of 13 last season was nearly double what he had hit in any previous season. 20 hr's between the 2 would be more realistic imo, if we are stuck with those 2 players as the corner outfielders. By the way, Avi hit those 13 hr's in 601 ab's--if Avi sees 601 ab's for the Sox in 2016, he's either made a sudden and massive jump in ability or more than likely, we're in trouble after having whiffed on all upgrade possibilities. You might want to recheck your stats. Melky has hit double digits in home runs since 2009. He hit 18 in 2011, 11 in 2012, 16 in 2014 and 12 last year.
  16. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Dec 28, 2015 -> 01:31 AM) ^I agree man, well said. We're for sure going for it. That's why we have Frazier and the catcher position looks super solid in theory. I'm all in too so I think they're trying to sign Gordon AND Cespedes w Melky at Dh. Avi & Laroche Sanchez on the bench. Eaton Gordon Abreu Frazier Cespedes Melky Catcher Lawrie Saladino Laroche, Sanchez, Shuck, Avi and the new catcher are great bench bats. Great for platooning tough relievers late in the game. I'd love that bench. Too many bench pieces. Bench would be 4 players cause the Sox generally carry 12 man pitching staff. That leaves 13 for position players and with 9 including dh that only leaves 4 players for bench
  17. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 27, 2015 -> 12:18 PM) Meh, sounds more like hard-ball between KC and Gordon. Gordon wants to stay in KC but KC does not want to pay the FA market price so KC could be relying on Gordon's desire to stay in hopes he will eventually accept a "home town" discount. I really think the Sox level of interest has been over blown by the local media. It's not just local media. It's national writers saying Sox are interested.
  18. Sox could be putting offers out but not the final one. I'm sure when ever the Sox put their final offer in KC will get last chance to offer

  20. If Daniel Murphys contract is finalized that moves Sox up to 27 pick http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/12/upda...medium=facebook
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 24, 2015 -> 07:22 PM) Sox aren't getting Cargo. Merkin has mentioned a few times the Rockies are asking for Q in return Reds were asking for Anderson/Quintana/fulmer and still got Frazier with out giving them up
