QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 07:28 PM) How about actually rebuilding? What good does Frazier do? Keep these prospects and build that way. Every year the same discussion is brought up. Frazier doesn't make the Sox a playoff team in 2016. Signing a 3B over 30 who had a rough 2nd half combined with the fact that their best prospect- Fulmer- would have to be involved is a horrible idea. So how do you expect the Sox to get the position players they need for future in catcher, 3rd baseman, among others. Sox can't draft and really develop position players. Only real development they do is pitchers which is a huge wanted commodity. So Sox trade pitching to get the position players they don't have. Definitely wouldn't be trading fulmer even though right now can't be traded

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 07:05 PM) Stay far away from 2 year rents with .660 2nd half OPS'. Will do nothing but set the Sox back. Enough damage was done last year with clowning like this. The second half ops is still higher then the sox total production at 3rd. He hit a .922 on the first half.
-
QUOTE (spiderman @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 06:33 PM) Any concern that Frazier had a second half decline after his all-start first half? Wondering if the homerun derby affected him a bit
-
QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 12:43 PM) That's not really how it works... Saying that's not how it works vs actually explaining it isnt helping

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 12:32 PM) Cespedes just had a career year, I'd rather not pay the price tag that comes along with it. Heyward will definitely be worth his contract, defense in general is still very underrated. Preventing a run is the same as generating one. Hate to say it but preventing a run is not as same as generating one. Saladino had 12 defensive runs saved at 3rd which is like tops in baseball at 3rd base. Sanchez had 6 defensive runs saved at 2nd. Unfortunately both helped the Sox have the worst offense in baseball at those position this year. If Heywards defense regresses then you don't have much of a player if his offense doesn't pick up.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 12:00 PM) Only reason why I'm ok with them signing him. I don't really want either Upton or Cespedes (depending on amount of years) personally. Upton just seems like the kind of guy that would come here and just suck. Injury prone, K's a lot, below average defense. Pass. Although if they signed one of those two I would probably be irrationally excited until we found out either were bad deals. I would prefer Cespedes cause he's played an in AL and doesnt have a pick attached
-
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 10:59 AM) I think it's possible that the Sox still go after Heyward anyway. Not sure if they are willing to give up the draft pick for him or any other with qualifying offers attached

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 10:21 AM) Right handed starters on FA market that would interest me: Kenta Maeda Henderson Alvarez Trevor Cahill Doug Fister Edwin Jackson's Mat Latos Tim Lincecum Brandon Morrow Also Mike leake

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 10:15 AM) I'd love it if they'd throw Danks in the bullpen as the long man, but they won't do that. Can't see them doing that. Can still start tho numbers aren't great tho not many 5th starters are great.
-
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 10:12 AM) So you think they add a righty, keep Johnson, trade Q for a haul? Don't see them eating any money to move Danks so he should be locked into a spot. Thats one way to go is keep johnson and trade Quintana to fill alot of holes. Or you include johnson in a trade then you still have 4 lefties and open spots in rotation. So yes needing another right handed starter somewhere
-
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 09:51 AM) Really seems like they don't want to go with Erik Johnson. I don't think that a second. Sox have 4 lefties with one righty. They are basically trying to get what they were supposed to have this year is a righty in the number 2 spot that shark was to fill which didn't happen

QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 5, 2015 -> 12:19 PM) So does this mean we get the Giants pick at 19, or could it change with other free agents? #WhiteSox should now have second pick within the top 30. Also have 10th pick of second round. https://t.co/8js1RNMahi https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/673203417230221312 -
He's was a 74th best prospect in all of baseball in 2013
-
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 04:25 PM) I just don't see vanquishing a young promising 2b, who plays excellent defense, for a proven .300 OBP. Are talking about the 2nd baseman that helped have the Sox worst offense at that position in all of baseball last year. A .300 obp would be .032 points higher then what sanchez put up last season and in his career sofar at the majors. Even when sanchez hit .250 in 2014 he only put up a .269 obp. Sox desperately need more offense which is what Hahn has been saying this offseason

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 02:01 PM) Just because a SP only pitches once every 5 days doesn't mean they aren't as valuable as position players. And DA is right, the days of overwhelming prospect offers are over. Everyone loves their prospects now, and GMs are going to be too gun-shy to pull the trigger on the deal it would take, especially with the general risk that pitchers have. I dont believe that GMs are going to be to gun shy to pull the triggers on deals. Same would be saying GMs are hesitant for giving out to much money to free agents. Somebody always does give up alot to get something back. Hahn even said on the interview saying that with how much pitchers like price and greinke are getting that some GMs are turning to trading for pitchers. The Rangers took a shot at hamels and got them to the playoffs. Because the diversity of teams in baseball very from having big money to needing to be economical changes that way things are done some time can't spend the bigger money on needs but can acquire it with trades cause they have a ton of prospects. Rockies stay can't spend huge money on pitchers and because if where they play big time pitchers hesitate on playing there so with them having the 3rd best farm system in baseball the can try to acquire them with prospects

Difference you'll see w/ Dioner Navarro catching for #WhiteSox -- more contact. Career K rate is 13.9 percent. Sox C at 28.8% in '15. https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/672866252126224384 Alex Avila's career rate is 26.7 percent but it drops down to 25.7 vs. right-handed pitchers. In short, more contact. #WhiteSox https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/672866954223345664

White Sox GM Rick Hahn said the team will seek to add infield help with offense in mind . F/A and trades. ( David Freeze and Brett Lawrie?) https://twitter.com/MLBBruceLevine/status/672863820449116160 Not sure who freeze is lol

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 12:48 PM) Hopefully Johnson then. Can't see him getting alot in return
-
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 12:42 PM) Decent bounce back candidate if he's healthy though. Could have a nice year and earn a QO at the end of the season. Especially with next year's free agent pitching class. But what would you have to give up to get him. The issue of trading for him when Sox have more holes to upgrade before starting pitching makes no sense

$1.5-million gamble on Jacob Turner gives #WhiteSox 8 starters who could be in mix in 2016 (10 if Beck is healthy and Fulmer comes fast). https://twitter.com/philgrogers/status/672847011163545600 Hahn was asked if he thought fulmer could do a Rodon and be pushing into a spot next year and said basically it's up to fulmer to show it but definitely believes has has the makeup to do it
-
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 12:29 PM) Rotation? What? What about EJ or Danks? Some asked him that and this is Dan's reply @AaronLemingNFL just in the mix. They take like 6-7 guys every year who are "in the mix." https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/672844842733576197

Will this team be a playoff contender? "It's certainly our goal to put ourselves into contention to win a championship," -Rick Hahn https://twitter.com/ESPNChiSox/status/672841592395407360
