  1. Source: Sergio Romo, #Dodgers agree on contract. @MLBNetwork @MLB https://twitter.com/jonmorosi/status/827687326927106048 Nationals have to be getting desperate.
  2. Once Jose Quintana is traded, Carlos Rodon becomes the new White Sox ace. Via @MLBBruceLevine: https://t.co/9IauEyIFyR https://t.co/06gupqojBD https://twitter.com/670TheScore/status/827610379123642368 Bruce is saying again that some source are saying that Quintana will be traded before camp opens
  3. Reported last night that #Dodgers are finalist for Romo and also talking to Blanton. Another reliever who remains on their radar: Blevins. https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/827557893826306049 If romo signs with dodgers could be a fallout of nationals going after robertson since they were on romo
  4. Perhaps just in time when they report to their fancy new spring-training digs in two weeks. #Astros. https://t.co/oMfTwx2pkb https://twitter.com/BNightengale/status/827554091513606144 Replying to his tweet last night about astros adding another starter from the hacking fallout
  5. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Feb 2, 2017 -> 06:04 PM) Did anyone see this interview? He said trade talks are heating up again. Said sox thought they would have traded him already but market slowed down after sale and eaton trades. Said contenders are talking again to sox about Quintana and specifically named astros and rangers. Also said thinks astros should be right there and that with the 2 extra picks they got for the Cardinals that they might feel better trading an exrta prospect.
  6. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Feb 2, 2017 -> 11:21 PM) I missed that quote. Where is it? They have been primarily focusing on Jose Quintana of the Chicago White Sox and Sonny Gray of the Oakland Athletics, Crane says.
  7. Rick Hahn said Friday at SoxFest #WhiteSox are still active in talks -- no specifics. Also insisted team won't come down on its price. https://t.co/sNlAfwS3cz https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/826924983872057355
  8. .@SieraSantos reports from #SoxFest2017: Hahn says another trade may be on the horizon, but he wouldn't specify beyond that. #InTheLoop https://t.co/BAdRFCIJdk https://twitter.com/CSNInTheLoop/status/825205627890700288
  9. QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 26, 2017 -> 02:38 PM) If you want to hear Hahn, he was on with Rongey for five minutes at midnight last night saying goodbye to him, and had those quotes. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/audio/670-the-score-interviews/ I do find it interesting that when Rongey asked hahn about if hes confident in the current group of players they have will be going into the season with, hahn said a decent chance but not yet sure these will be the players and hes having dialogue with teams still. Said if the possibly talks dont turn into trades the next few weeks then maybe the next couple of months into the season.
  10. nats are still looking for closer. romo the best of the free agents. robertson, colome (long shot) trade options https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/824722970027458560
  11. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2017/01/26/gm-...ing-on-rebuild/ The White Sox continue to carry on discussions with other teams, with left-hander Jose Quintana and third baseman Todd Frazier on the trade market. Asked if the White Sox as currently constructed would be the team that first-year manager Rick Renteria opens spring training with in mid-February, Hahn wasn’t certain. “I don’t think we’re there yet,” Hahn said. “We’re still having dialogue with other clubs. It is possible we end up finding that match on some of these deals that we’ve been discussing. I’m not quite to that point yet, but there certainly is that possibility.”
  12. http://www.houstonchronicle.com/sports/ast...twitter-premium Astros trade for frontline starter looking less likely
  13. The #Astros, in need for a starter, remain engaged with #WhiteSox for Jose Quintana, #Rays for Chris Archer and #Athletics for Sonny Gray. https://twitter.com/BNightengale/status/821457595886141441
  14. QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 12:51 PM) I feel like the A's would be better waiting until Quintana is off the market to sell Gray. I mean once Q is gone there is literally nobody left available unless you want to sacrifice your entire farm for Archer. Makes sense that Houston would already be going after Gray if they are out on Q...try and get ahead of the Gray market before it explodes. A's arent moving gray until he can sorta be healthy and get back to pitching better. Hes stock is low. A's can still afford to let him trying coming back and trade him down the line.
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 12:30 PM) Feels like people take these rumors personally. Why wouldn't the Astros monitor the Gray situation? If you could get him for .50 on the dollar wouldn't you call? Im sure the astros are trying to exhaust all options but theres no way the A's would sell gray for .50 on the dollar. Im sure thats what the astros think but there will be a wake up call.
  16. QUOTE (peavy44 @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 12:21 PM) Maybe they move on and get no pitcher. They need a good pitcher and they know it. Thats why they keep trying for different ones
  17. I think the astros are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Quintana is the best option out there and they arent paying up to get him. They tried for archer which probably wasnt going to be traded after a down year and would still take a hefty package to get him. They are trying to go after sonny gray but hes had a bad year and been injured. You know the A's arent going to sell low on him. Will probably have the astros come crawling back to Quintana eventually. Really not many choices
  18. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jan 15, 2017 -> 05:58 PM) News? http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/01/quic...p;post-id=82848 Was posted on the page before

  20. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jan 11, 2017 -> 02:45 PM) Watch Seattle jump into the Q sweepstakes with an offer of Smith/Vogelbach/O'Neill/Lewis. Would be nice if Houston had a division rival involved in the negotiations. They just got drew smyly.

  22. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 10, 2017 -> 11:30 AM) Baseball AmericaVerified account ‏@BaseballAmerica The @astros are reluctant to part with Francis Martes, knowing the righty could debut in 2017, @jakemkaplan writes. http://bba.am/Cmgzxy Houston can go f*** off Yet wasn't he one of the rumored package offers for archer
  23. http://m.braves.mlb.com/news/article/21309...quire-starters/ Garfien did say he heard braves made an offer along with astros and pirates
  24. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 9, 2017 -> 07:59 PM) Yes, but those are mostly 30+ FA "money-based" acquisitions. Trading pitching talent for positional talent isn't impossible. See Eaton for Santiago, or acquiring Carlos Quentin for another younger hitter. Theoretically, they also could have used Addison Reed and Sergio Santos to acquire positional talent back as well, but we know what happened there. Then there's Abreu and Alexei Ramirez, not to mention Japanese/Korean players. As far as Collins goes, they don't need to really begin to think about the catching situation until one year from now...depending on how close they are to fielding a competitive team in 2018. They've already addressed the veteran/pitch framer issue by bringing back Soto for one season. We just have to be patient. Again those 30+ free agent acquisitions are because they dont poney up for younger or better players. Yes you can trade pitching for position players but again thats what the sox had to do before and look where it got them. They've had to either trade for or pay for positions players alot over the years and hasnt gotten them no where. Sox wont go in a couple years and start throwing money at the harpers and machados of the world. They shouldn't start gutting their depth of pitching to bring in position players and weaken the depth. Quintana is one of the last blue chips left so they need to get at least 3 position players back.
  25. Every team would like to have a stud like Jose Quintana. But which club will pay the price in prospects? https://t.co/9I6L3tZWjw #HotStove https://t.co/FeRffkHWgd https://twitter.com/MLB/status/818632534552547328 Only thing i had an issue is with them calling Quintana a 2 or 3 starter. Hes a number 1 or 2 on most teams
