  1. Re: Luis Robert. @BaseballAmerica thinks #WhiteSox are in good position if he isn't eligible until July 2. But status is TBD by MLB. 1/2 https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/837475066052915200 Re: Luis Robert -- If it's current signing period, crapshoot & who knows where bids would go. But, key #WhiteSox staff haven't seen him yet. https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/837475398979985408 Either way, #WhiteSox international program is in much better shape now than 6 years ago bc of Marco Paddy. Have more on that up shortly. https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/837475728694235136
  2. If Boston needs replacement for Price, best FA available could be Doug Fister. Industry speculation: Will BOS use Devers to pursue Quintana? https://twitter.com/Buster_ESPN/status/837360517106794496

  4. QUOTE (Dunt @ Feb 27, 2017 -> 01:17 PM) Dead arm usually happens a couple months into the season though, to have it a couple games in to ST isnt a good omen. He's supposed to be their reliable one too lol. He actually was having it coming into spring training.
  5. QUOTE (bighurt574 @ Feb 27, 2017 -> 01:00 PM) "Dead arm" is often a precursor to a more serious diagnosis. Alot of pitchers go through dead arm. Usually just rest and wait to overcome it. Dont see alot of issues coming after that unless its something more then Dead arm
  6. White Sox ace Jose Quintana still in high demand on the trade market https://t.co/YtkkmxbxYQ via @MLBBruceLevine https://t.co/1FcFUUkQqX https://twitter.com/670TheScore/status/836206763317866498 Bruce still at
  7. https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/redsox/2...P5RM/story.html Nick cafardo 7. David Robertson, RHP, White Sox — There’s belief that the Nationals could still make a deal for Robertson, even after talks broke down. With the Wieters addition, the Nats now have four catchers in Derek Norris, Jose Lobaton, and prospect Pedro Severino. If Rizzo elects to give up Severino, that deal could regain traction. The Nats really need an established closer.
  8. Nats have interest in David Robertson but unclear if they'll move soon or wait to scout Robertson on Team USA. Nothing seems imminent. https://twitter.com/philgrogers/status/834412439852584962
  9. The Nats would prefer to trade Derek Norris after adding Matt Wieters but it's Severino who interests #Whitesox. Robertson is in WBC. https://twitter.com/philgrogers/status/834218511513710592
  10. http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/washing...osenthal-022117 The assumption now is that the Nationals’ surplus at catcher will lead to a trade for White Sox closer David Robertson. But ownership blocked a proposed deal for Robertson earlier this month, sources said, and the front office is not convinced he is the answer. Robertson, who turns 32 on April 9, is owed $12 million this season and $13 million next season, and ownership has shown a willingness to extend only for elite closers such as Kenley Jansen and Mark Melancon, both of whom the Nats bid on as free agents – and lost to the Dodgers and Giants, respectively. Might ownership reverse course? It’s possible, but the White Sox almost certainly would want Severino, 23, over Norris, 28, or Lobaton, 32. And the Nats are reluctant to trade additional young talent after parting with three top young pitchers to the White Sox for center fielder Adam Eaton.
  11. A potential big domino of Wieters deal. #WhiteSox need a catcher, and #Nats have a bunch of them now. https://t.co/BVgoSJEGZf https://twitter.com/MarkZuckerman/status/834065396437245953
  12. QUOTE (Sleepy Harold @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 09:40 AM) Jayson Stark @jaysonst 32s A team that has been talking with the White Sox says they've been waiting for Nats to sign Wieters to rekindle David Robertson trade talks @jaysonst White Sox have been looking for a catcher. Derek Norris or Pedro Severino could be potential fits. https://twitter.com/jaysonst/status/834065821940981760
  13. #Nationals will have obvious surplus of catchers once Wieters deal is official - Norris, Lobaton, Severino. https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/834061374242250753
  14. QUOTE (BrianAnderson @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 09:12 AM) Nationals rumored to be signing Matt Weiters. I don't keep up a ton with the Nationals backstop situation -- but let's say it's a 3-4 year deal does that open the opportunity to go after Severino? I think that's the name of that minor league catcher were talking about on here. Maybe it's a precursor move? I'd guess only if it was 3-4 year deal though. If it's a 1 year deal probably doesn't mean anything. Looks like possibly 2 yr deal with a option
  15. #WhiteSox won't play an intrasquad game. Instead they're going to "double down" on fundamentals, manager Rick Renteria said. https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/833768781486841856
  16. Hahn was on hotstove this morning. Was asked about Quintana. Says they have an open mind about trading but not going to compromise. Said to still having dialogue with other teams
  17. Mike Rizzo told us the Nats closer will come from Shawn Kelley, Blake Treinin or Koda Glover #Nationals https://twitter.com/JimBowden_ESPN/status/833696679266222081
  18. Rizzo told us that they have NOT had trade conversations for a closer in “quite sometime”. They think answer is in camp.@SiriusXMFantasy https://twitter.com/JimBowden_ESPN/status/833695541699760132
  19. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 13, 2017 -> 05:13 PM) They didn't. Thats why i waa asking.
  20. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Feb 13, 2017 -> 05:03 PM) I doubt it's the Sox being reluctant to eat money in a trade. Is eating money in a trade any different than releasing players and still paying them to not be on the team anymore? At least when a team eats money in a trade they are receiving players in return. Hell, the Sox paid LaRoche to take his family on vacation and sit on ass watching duck dynasty last summer. When did the sox pay for Laroche last year?
  21. http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/renteri...-job-to-do/amp/ David Robertson also has value as a proven closer and set-up man and is at or near the contending Washington Nationals’ priority list. Some believe Robertson could go this week, if the two sides come to an agreement on prospects going to the Sox in return and the amount of salary the Nationals are willing to pay. Robertson has $11 million and $12 million on the last two years of his four-year deal, and the Sox historically are not big on eating contract dollars.
  22. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 6, 2017 -> 11:35 AM) An update on MLBtr. Assuming the other team was the Nats, that stings for them haha Jesse sanchez said the rays made an offer and the Yankees made a late push
  23. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 6, 2017 -> 08:56 AM) Worth mentioning that the agreement with Dodgers and Romo has not happened yet because a team that was in the mix upped their offer to him. I figure that would have to be the Nationals. Rosenthal is now saying romo to dodgers pending physical. Hope that puts pressure in nationals now
  24. http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/washing...osenthal-020617 That might change soon; the Nats continue to discuss a trade with the White Sox for closer David Robertson, according to major-league sources. Robertson is owed $12 million this season and $13 million next season, creating an all-too-typical Nats obstacle. The team does not want to absorb Robertson’s entire obligation, and does not want to move additional prospects after parting with three young pitchers for Eaton, sources say.
  25. Source: Sergio Romo, #Dodgers agree on contract. @MLBNetwork @MLB https://twitter.com/jonmorosi/status/827687326927106048 Nationals have to be getting desperate.
