8-23 GT: Sox @ Cubs (1:20pm)
Sox and a Prayer replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in 2020 Season in Review
I actually had a cubs fan tell me today that the sox are hitting too many homeruns. That we can't manufacture any runs. I'm like really? I looked at him and told him that it didn't hurt Minnesota last year when they homered their way to the playoffs. -

The last couple of days Ricky looks so annoyed from the dugout. -
How much longer do you wait on EE and Mazara?
Sox and a Prayer replied to Jack Parkman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Even for a little change of scenery swap of Bellinger for Mazara? might do them both some good. Lol. Sorry had to say and was dying when you posted that earlier. -

Hahn will bring him back. Madrigal makes the team better. But will Ricky start him? That's the question. I mean Madrigal's ops .628 is better than Mazara's .574. And way better than Delmonico's and Goins. Lol -

Good call. Was just thinking that. And I think Madrigal is about ready to return. What to do Ricky? -
Delmonico to be sent back down? Asking for a friend.
-
Maybe Steve Stone can help him focus on a triangle or something. Anything at this point to help.

Can you imagine how good this bullpen will be if we get the Jace Fry from 2 seasons ago? And it's already a very good bullpen. Mercy! -

I thought Grandal was a bad matchup with Lester pitching? Maybe Rickies gut is telling him something else? Normally I would be worried about 7 -9 but Mendick and Engel have been solid. -

I absolutely love these breakdowns here! Thanks for doing this. -
What should the Sox do with James McCann?
Sox and a Prayer replied to Tony's topic in Pale Hose Talk
And these are the kind of tweets that are helping to make their situation awkward. But it is what it is. There's 5 weeks left. At this point that is definitely one of the things everyone is looking at - pitching era/catcher. I do think the ERA will come down as Grandal continues to catch. I also think that Grandal is a super talented player who has a good eye for the strikezone. Who can take a walk and get on base. At the same time, McCann has the pitchers pitching with a better flow to the game. 5 weeks left. they have to work this out. -
What should the Sox do with James McCann?
Sox and a Prayer replied to Tony's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It is almost becoming an awkward situation. We have Grandal off to a really slow start and a really big contract. And then we have McCann picking up right where he left off. Plus the fact that he has a great flow/ game plan with Giolito. And he has history with Keuchel too (teammates at Arkansas). I think there is a way they both could coexist on this team. They both bring alot to the table. -
"He gets me!"

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Sox and a Prayer replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I would be very happy with a Joc Pederson acquisition. Yes very easy to root for. And honestly knowing how the Sox work would be a little surprised if they didn't get him next year. -

Springer will be on the wrong side of 30. And I just don't know how comfortable I am knowing that he was part of the Astros cheating racket. -
No you're correct. He shouldn't be compared to Mize. But 2 years ago, everyone seemed to know Dunning. A top 100 prospect - and depending on who you talk to from the Sox - were more excited about Dunning than Giolito or Lopez in the trade for Eaton.

As I said in another post, I am very comfortable with him as a catcher. He makes a great option to have. -

No he's not. And I'm very comfortable with him as a catching option. -

Also, Cishek might be pissed that he didn't get the win. Lol. -

Good question. Gio did not get the win because he was 1 out shy of qualifying. A starter needs to go 5 innings. So that part you are right. Cishek came in and relieved him. Cishek got the out. Heuer pitched the next inning. All 3 pitchers always had the lead. But only 2 were eligible for the win. The score keeper went with Heuer. His discretion. -

One of the things that may get overlooked with all the homeruns tonight is how the bullpen is really coming together. Heuer picks up his first career win! Congrats Cody.
