2016 Catch All Thread
QUOTE (shipps @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 09:07 AM) This morning while buying my coffee and guy in his 20's had an apple juice in his hand and asked the check out person how much the juice was. The guy told him it was $2.36 so the dude asked him if he can have it for 2 bucks because that was all that he had. The check out person told him , sorry no. He looked back to me and was like do you have it and I said dont worry about I will take care of it, its no big deal. He didnt thank me and he instead then began to ask the check out person how much some of the other junk at the counter was so he can buy it with the 2 bucks that he did have. I was kind of pissed but really not sure I should have been. How would you have reacted if this happened to you. The more I think about it it shouldnt have bothered me at all. I would have chuckled and ignored him. Dude sounds like a crap person.

2016 MLB catch all thread
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 14, 2016 -> 07:14 PM) Bob Nightengale @BNightengale 6m6 minutes ago It keeps getting worse for #Dbacks Shelby Miller. He has now been optioned to AAA Reno, yielding a 7.14 ERA this season. What a nightmare trade for the Dbacks. Atlanta absolutely fleeced them.

All-star gamethread: American League vs. National League
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Jul 13, 2016 -> 12:04 AM) I CAN NOT WAIT for David Ortiz to retire. On the broadcast they said he is "Everything a superstar is and should be"....oh...you mean like a PED user??? Real f***ing nice. Him and Colon. Ridiculous love for those 2 roiders/quitter(Colon). Just shook my head when the crowd gave Bartolo a huge round of applause at presentations.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 11, 2016 -> 10:44 AM) Is this something I find at pokestops? or I need to upgrade them myself? I'm pretty sure you will need to get them at pokestops as you continue to level up and they become vital to catching tougher pokemon.

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Jul 11, 2016 -> 09:44 AM) Not a glitch. Tougher Pokemon are more likely to escape. Yup, you need better pokeballs that improve the chances of catching better pokemon. also this was bound to start happening sooner than later. http://www.snopes.com/2016/07/10/armed-rob...sed-pokemon-go/

Exclusive interview with Nick Hostetler - review of the 2016 draft
You weren't kidding, awesome article. Nick didn't pull any punches, he seems confident in their process and honestly great to hear about going for good OBP,fundamental hitters and overall ballplayers. Nice work

The Second Wildcard
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 11, 2016 -> 08:35 AM) If you trade these guys, you're definitely punting 2017 and probably 2018. But if we lose Frazier, Melky, & Lawrie after next year, are you really any worse off? Also, I expect this to be a seller's market and we'd have some of the more attractive chips available. A guy like Frazier isn't having a great year, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't be one of the best power bats on the trade market. There are going to be very few perfect players (if any) available. They're definitely worth dangling out there, I will say that. If someone is serious about picking them up the return should be nice but if they stand pat I won't blame them unlike last year.

The Second Wildcard
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 11, 2016 -> 07:46 AM) If I'm selling, I'm immediately putting Frazier, Melky, Lawrie, Robertson, & Duke on the market. All of them should have some value and aren't long-term guys. I'd also consider moving Quintana, but would have to blown away to make a deal. Point is we actually have a lot of tradable assets that could help replenish the system. The major league team would be pretty awful if you moved all or most of those guys, but I think it puts you in better spot by 2018 than losing all these guys to free agency. I just don't think that would bring back much. Maybe Robertson and Duke but Frazier just creates a hole for next year and we wouldn't get much in return since he's really not having a great year besides HRs. Melky might bring something too is Sox will take on some money for a good prospect. Besides that would just be the core and guys gone after this year who have sucked anyway.

The Second Wildcard
Sox should be aiming at the division. Wild Card is looking so much tougher and even though they're out 7 games Cleveland has really cooled off. With that said I don't even know who they would sell off that would bring any value besides the core guys. Might as well stand pat.
