QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 01:03 PM) I want the same thing as you guys do, but I really don't think the Red Sox are giving up both Moncada and Benintendi on top of several other top 100 prospects. Everyone agrees it's too much. "WELL THEN THEY DON'T GET SALE. SIMPLE AS THAT." Exactly. There are many other options on the market. They aren't as good as Sale, but if the cost is too high, they'll settle for less. And that's fine -- I want to keep Sale personally -- but my point is this: we aren't getting Moncada and Benintendi, so don't let your heart move that direction. Someone like Hellickson or Cashner won't get Boston farther in the playoffs. Boston has their hands tied as well, and a top 3 pitcher in MLB can't land 2 top prospects in baseball? I think it's definitely possible.

The Possibility of the Curve Ball from the Sox...

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 12:55 PM) The thing is, I'm not really interested in any package Texas could put together, and the Dodgers don't really have the position player prospects that we need (despite how great Urias and De Leon are). The only team I'm really interested in dealing with if I'm trading Sale is Boston and since some writers think they'd be unwilling to include both Moncada and Benintendi in a potential deal then it might make sense to hold on to him until the offseason, when they might be more willing or other teams could jump in. If the right deal isn't there don't do it just to do it. But I'm sure you'll act like they could have had Boston's entire farm system if Sale or Quintana is not traded this week. Yup, it's pretty much Boston or bust and it should be since they have the positional impact players the Sox need. Be overwhelmed or hang onto them, but we've seen Dombroski, I think he will budge. -

They win tonight then the sweep is almost inevitable. So let's sweep the scrubbies! -
Pick ups like these are why Bowman and Co deserve 99.9% the benefit of the doubt. Vesey is gonna be a star.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 12:05 PM) Well now you have to tell. That's the problem, I saw a few random tweets about it but no one explaining it or any audio/video of it so I'm trying to see what was said or if anyone has a source to it.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 11:04 AM) Very nice to see Micker get 4 htis. especially after last night's 4k performance. Nice rebound for him.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 10:57 AM) Small typo toward end: Aaron McRee will get the start and opposes Colorado's 1st round pick Riley Pint on Wendesday. As someone who struggles with that word, looked fine to me

Did anybody catch the Vin Scully story about Chris Archer during the LA game last night?
-
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 10:36 AM) I'd still be stunned if someone traded for sale considering the price. When Boston's pitching gets rocked in the playoffs, Dombrowski will call Hahn and tell him he can have Betts+++++ for Sale.
-
QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 10:12 AM) Collins, Engel, Michalzewski, and Sanchez should all be able to fill in holes by then. Catcher is the biggest concern right now with none under contract for next year and nothing in the minors that is going to be ready to contribute. Which is why I think they'll be extra patient with Collins to keep him behind the plate. Late 2018 should be the limit for him to come up and catch, if he can't stay there by then he's a 1B/DH

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 09:45 AM) Do you really think if we trade off everyone except a couple guys that the team will be mediocre? You need someone to build the team around, otherwise you're just going to be rebuilding forever. Which is why trading 1 of Sale or Quintana is optimal at this point. Keep an ace and fill the teams needs for young bats with one them. With that said, no rush, pitching market is gonna suck for a while. Wait for the overpay, it will come. -
Realistically what kind of return would he fetch even with the pitching market sky high right now? I just don't see it being worth it unless Ranaudo or Fulmer can step in right now.

Anthony Ranaudo starting vs. Cubs on Wednesday

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 08:08 AM) If he isn't sharp, I'm guess Fulmer will take the mound tonight. Win-Win. Either Ranaudo looks good and make shields expendable at the right time or Fulmer comes in and gets some valuable game time.
