  1. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 05:46 PM) I'd say 90% of Soxtalk did not see this coming. Sure as hell surprised me. I have read few, if any, offseason plans involving a restructured Alexi contract. If it's a restructured deal, I'm sure Hahn told Alexi the money saved would allow them to sign an additional FA. Of which would be geared towards 3B or 2B. If he leaves, I commend Hahn for atleast recognizing this collection of players isn't working and attempting something different. It's easy to sit back and say "alexi is the least of our problems" while accepting a below replacement level offensive and defensive player. Semi-surprising, but also intriguing if they move on completely.
  2. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 05:42 PM) Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 13m13 minutes ago Sources: #Rockies’ Nolan Arenado changing agents, from Scott Boras to Joel Wolfe and Nick Chanock of Wasserman Media Group. The only guy I would trade Q for just dropped Scott Boras as his agent.... That's interesting and big. I'd go all in for him. He's the type of guy I could see us moving Q for.
  3. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 02:15 PM) People from ware? From over dare!
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 01:31 PM) What do you think Alexei is worth on the open market? Will teams really offer him $7 or 8 million a year? I'm thinking half of that. I don't think the White Sox would have declined the option to save a million or 2. They probably would have tried to negotiate it, but if they couldn't, I think they just would have picked it up. I agree. I could see him coming back at 1 year $5 mil.
  5. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 01:18 PM) I cracked up at the fan that said to bring up that kid Tim Anderson. Sure dude, call up a position player that has yet to play for AAA. In fairness, we did have Nieto up in '14.
  6. I'll bite. I like this move. He could still return.
  7. I never understood how Parent could have cost us games by sabotaging. Someone explain it to me and how it makes sense.
  8. Seems like it could be Renteria http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2015/11/03/lev...ox-bench-coach/
  9. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 12:43 AM) 1. I don't know why I'm going down this road 2. I don't even know why I'm in PHT to begin with, but.... You want a power bullpen and your first move is moving Danks to the pen?
  10. Just move on. Enough with Alexei's inconsistencies. I'd rather let Saladino be the stop gap for Anderson and spend the money on an impact bat.
  11. I'm good with this pen as is. Only thing I'd do is add a power arm if possible.
  12. Just let Alexei go. He's 34. Time to move on at $10 mil.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 3, 2015 -> 10:08 AM) I know it will contrary to popular belief, but if we don't get a decent one year number for Albers, I am OK with letting him walk and finding the next project to put out there. I'm good with that because pen arms can be fickle year to year.
  14. I'm good with the pen. Wouldn't mind adding a power arm though. Maybe Montas in the back of the pen.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 3, 2015 -> 09:59 AM) One thing that just hit me. If Sandy didn't take the job because of Robin's lame duck status, that probably means they aren't looking to extend him, otherwise they would have told Alomar they were looking at it to get him to come here. That's right. Has to be. At this point though we should've done everything to get "our guy", but they have a list so it's next man up.
  16. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 11:21 PM) Ha so who signed him the D'bags or the Sox ? I don't know haha that's why I posted it
  17. Sale wouldn't even be talked about it unless it started with a Bryant type starting package. His value is sky high. I do wonder what you could get. Interesting nonetheless.
  18. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 07:46 PM) Even if it could, no one would sign today. It's not like someone is going to sign as soon as they are eligible anyway. Baseball off-season seems like the slowest one to develop out of the major professional sports. I get your excitement in it starting though because this roster needs some work done. MLB absolutely starts slow. Wish it was like NFL and NHL, but winter meetings are tradition.
  19. Steve Lombardozzi - 2B - Diamondbacks Diamondbacks signed INF Steve Lombardozzi to a minor league contract. Lombardozzi went 0-for-10 with four strikeouts for the Pirates in 2015 and he also posted underwhelming numbers on the farm. The 27-year-old utilityman probably won't crack the Diamondbacks' 40-man roster. Source: Matt Eddy on TwitterNov 2 - 1:41 PM
  20. Just raining all over my parade Caulfield lol
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 10:49 AM) Chances of the Sox signing Gordon are between 0.1% and 1.42538%. Still too high
