  1. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Sep 10, 2014 -> 10:25 PM) I'll have to check, but we will ppretty much lose a game on everyone with this win. We are barely a top 10 pick. Were 8th I believe
  2. 65th win! I'm all for tanking but this win feels good wins are always good we're not gona get a top 5 pick.
  3. Ugh...Edwin Jackson sucks, and so does Masterson. No to both of those guys.
  4. Whatever happens I trust Hahn. I wish we'd get a new manager but that's another subject. We've won 64 games with Sale missing a month, Avi missing basically all season until August, the worst bullpen in team history, and a horrible back of the rotation minus Noesi. I'm excited for the offseason because I trust the front office.
  5. Ya I think I'd much rather have Kemp due to age. I forgot about Hamiltons drug abuse. He's been rode hard and put out wet. Hamilton scares me. I like the guy just not sure that's the route. I think Id rather go all out for Victor or Sandoval than trade for Hamilton.
  6. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 10, 2014 -> 08:15 AM) You also don't want to trade for a disgruntled player because he is not playing CF to play him in LF and DH. Hahn has specifically mentioned taking on a LH bat and taking on a bad contract to save some prospects. If he combines those two, you're talking Ethier or Hamilton, and my instinct says it will be Hamilton. When he's been healthy he's still been an above average bat, the Sox and Angels have a fairly good working relationship, the Angels have a glut of outfielders at this point, and the Angels have shown a propensity to eat contracts in the past when they need to move someone. Hamilton's owed $83 million over the next 3 years. For the Angels to move him, I'd imagine they'd have to pick up $40-50 million of his contract, depending upon the prospect/player the Sox would give back. I'm not sure I'm down for that. He's 33 and often injured. So let's say 43 million we pay over 3 seasons. For what prospects?
  7. QUOTE (bshah723 @ Sep 3, 2014 -> 11:38 AM) Meet your new DH in 2015 Mr Ryan Howard (with phillies paying most of his salary left) Yuck!! No way no how.
  8. I have a gut feeling a splash is coming. Alexei could be moved in a 3 team deal it makes sense.
  9. With pitching a premium, Qs performance, and contract his value is very high. Still not interested in trading him. But for Stanton? I'd think about it for sure he'd have to sign an extension.
  10. I don't understand the obsession with trading Q. With that said there's only a few I'd entertain it for. And that's Stanton. I'm not interested in trading for prospects. I love Q and think he's definitely a number 2 and is proving that statistically. The issue is we lack depth at starting pitching in our organization. But I'd like to know where any of this Stanton stuff came from. Are we said to have been talking to or planning to talk to the marlins about him? He's definitely gota re-sign here if we did deal for him.
  11. I'd bring up Davidson just for his psyche. Maybe some fresh major league at bats would spark him. I don't know. Couldn't hurt.
  12. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 24, 2014 -> 11:32 PM) Today the Sox gained a game on.... Rangers, Rockies, Cubs, and Phillies. Sox are now 8.5 GB of the #1 pick, and 4.5 GB of the #5 pick. With this pen I expect us to have the 5th pick
  13. Gordon with a solid 0-4 tonight lol...at 2B
  14. @SethLakso: Rodon's line after two appearances with the Knights: 7 IP, 2H, 2ER, 5BB, 11Ks -- 128 pitches (72 strikes).
  15. @KnightsBaseball: Boom! 2-R HR by Jared Mitchell! #CLTKnights with a 5-4 lead! @scottmerkin: @KnightsBaseball I think I hear Chicago calling in September ~ @SethLakso: In MLB rehab news: Adam Eaton picked up a RBI single in the 5th, stole second, and then scored on Jared Mitchell’s 19th HR of the season.
  16. With another strong draft next year, this farm will be pretty solid. We don't really have to spend on big time free agents. Maybe shields on a 3 year deal at max but even then he's 33 already. I think well develop the pitching and sign a couple more bats or sign a bat and trade for one. Should be an interesting next four months.
  17. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Aug 24, 2014 -> 06:09 PM) Let's not forget to thank the Astros and Marlins too. I'm with ya tho. I can't cheer for the Sox to lose but I can still smile after a loss. Just watched video of Michael Matuella on BA and read their scouting report. That's a big dude with a nice developing repertoire. Sox would have to tank pretty hard in order to get a high enough pick to have a shot but I'm on board. We don't have to tank really lol not with this lineup, pen and 4&5 starters.
  18. QUOTE (hi8is @ Aug 24, 2014 -> 05:52 PM) I'm so glad we sucked so much **** last year... And hope we tank again more and more this year. High positions in the draft are so underrated. Mix in some good trades, free agent signings, and a couple years of high drafting... We're back to it like never before and quick. Good job Hanh and company. We're heading in the right direction. With this team don't need to tank
  19. @scottmerkin: @SethLakso @KnightsBaseball I would guess you are right on the money ~ his response to the one more start then promoted
  20. Today: @SethLakso: Carlos Rodon’s final line: 4 IP 1H 1ER 2BB 8Ks — 73 pitches (47 strikes). His final inning was his best by far. #WhiteSox @SethLakso: Would guess Rodon starts for @KnightsBaseball again on 8/29 at Gwinnett w/ a 100-pitch limit and then joins the #whitesox in September.
