  1. Not sure if this was posted. But I'll post anyways. @Buster_ESPN: Mets would seem like a perfect match on paper for possible Alexei Ramirez deal, given their surplus of pitching and CHW needs. I think this is a destined deal. Just feels like it
  2. I want this guy in our pen. Steal him from Detroit.
  3. I feel that it's a matter of time before the deal is done. The Mets are stuck.
  4. QUOTE (shysocks @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 02:34 PM) wite posted this in a different thread but I find it relevant here as well: I was hanging out with my dad yesterday, somebody who becomes increasingly grumpy about the White Sox each passing year. He was lamenting how the Sox stink and he wishes they had somebody like Theo Epstein to guide them to the promised land. I explained that Theo took over a 71-win team and has turned it into a 73-win team with a list of prospects that's ultimately worth the paper it's printed on. Some of that is my typical Cub bitterness, but in reality there will always be guys who rise far above their prospect standing and guys who crash and burn, and everything in between. The above quote is a testament to that. Basically **** the Cubs. That's incredible of Boston.
  5. I too think VMart stays in Detroit. Hope not. Hope we get him.
  6. Very happy for Abreu. We need to have a strong offseason to add to having a top ace in the AL and one of the best hitters in the league. Really crazy how good he did this year considering he's never faced MLB pitching (except for World Baseball Classic?). Look forward to an even better year next year.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 9, 2014 -> 12:36 PM) What I don't understand is people still rip KW for gutting the farm system when he traded forgetble players for productive ones, now they want to trade the prospects they have been raving about for perhaps one yer of Heyward or Samardjia. Well that's not me. I'm keeping my top prospects. I'm not trading my top prospects unless it's for Stanton.
  8. @whitesox: BREAKING: @79JoseAbreu has been named a 2014 AL #SilverSlugger award winner!
  9. I've put my love for CarGo aside. I'm not interested in him unless it's a Danks for CarGo swap. I'll keep my prospects and build up our system.
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 08:55 PM) Tempting, but even our best offer of Montas, Danish, Anderson and Hawkins might not be enough to get it done. They would ask for Quintana in addition and that would be the deal breaker IMO. If they would accept the first deal, it's definitely something to consider. However, a Rockies player coming to the AL, his injury history...his going into his decline years, only the Kenny Williamses of the world have the balls to make that deal. And the problem is that the farm system still doesn't have enough depth to recover from losing every top prospect but Rodon in one fell swoop. It would take another 18 months to replace that level of talent. Ya no dice. We need to keep our young players
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 4, 2014 -> 06:46 PM) $100 million is probably pretty light. I am guessing when all is said and done we are talking about $150 at least. I was using $100 mil in general. He likely gets 150.
  12. QUOTE (peavy44 @ Nov 4, 2014 -> 06:36 PM) Then vmart dont make sense for us either. Yes it does. It adds a veteran bat to the lineup and protection for Abreu. $100 million on Lester is dumb. We have Sale and Q. Rodon on the way also.
  13. Belly is obviously gone. Flowers, Guerra, Noesi and Jones obviously stay. Not sure about Tank.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 3, 2014 -> 11:39 PM) And who here is willing to give up Tim Anderson for Blackmon? Montas? Because that will be the asking price...not 2-3 "second tier" guys like Beck, Sanchez and Trayce Thompson cobbled together into a package. I'm not sure I'd do it. Just saying they are a good match. I really like Montas and Anderson nor do I want to trade them. Id have to really think about what I'd give up for blackmon. He's a 28 left handed hitter we could use and under control.
  15. Blackmon or CarGo would be my guesses. Dickerson is only 25 Id be shocked if they moved him. They have a surplus of outfielders. Matches up well with our need for a LF.
  16. I wouldn't expect movement at midnight. It's not like the NFL or NHL.
  17. Good write up on Tim Anderson http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/news/article/100...in-tim-anderson
  18. I'm all for signing him. I expect us to sign him. With our Cuban rich history and Abreu on here, I expect us to sign him.
  19. @philgrogers: White Sox have to be considered a big factor w/19-yr-old Cuban SS Yoan Moncado, who played w/Jose Abreu. He's a big talent.
  20. I would like to add Panda but the Red Sox are going to go hard after him.
