Ervin Santana is interesting, I imagine he'll reject it but he might have a hard time on the market now.
November 3, 201411 yr Author QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 3, 2014 -> 03:56 PM) does anyone know if Nelson Cruz got one? Deadline is 4 pm CST, so a couple minutes left.
November 3, 201411 yr Author QUOTE (GreenSox @ Nov 3, 2014 -> 04:03 PM) I don't know why the Pirates gave one to Liriano. Probably just covering their bases to get a draft pick, I think they will be shocked if he accepts it, but he should.

Yea he should - but do the Pirates want him to? And is anyone really going to sign Liriano and give up a draft choice and give him some multiple year deal at 15 mill per? I know the Braves signed Santana for 1 years, but they were desperate after a lot of injuries.

November 3, 201411 yr QUOTE (GreenSox @ Nov 3, 2014 -> 04:11 PM) Did the Rangers give a QO to Rios? No, and they'd have been stupid to do so.
November 3, 201411 yr Well, I was just kidding. 13 mill option for Rios - yikes. It will be fun watching Boras peddle him around.
November 3, 201411 yr So basically everyone has received qualifying offers. I cant decide if this is good or bad for the free agent market.
November 3, 201411 yr Well, nobody's going to want Michael Cuddyer now via trade. That seems to force them to move Dickerson, Blackmon (that one doesn't make sense, he started off superhot early and peaked, then had a rapid decline) or CarGo. Then there's Stubbs as well. One theory is that Cuddyer might be moving to 1B...but that's a huge QO for an average at best 1B who's likely to underproduce as he gets older. What's Morneau's status at the moment? They have to decide whether to pick up his option, which is "pretty" affordable, right?

Morneau will be paid 6.75M in 2015 and his option year is 2016 and if picked up will cost 9M. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/...shtml#contracts
November 3, 201411 yr Yeah Rockies FO is really weird / unpredictable the last few years. Not sure the franchise has any direction, and this would seem to be proof of that.
November 3, 201411 yr QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 3, 2014 -> 04:58 PM) Cuddyer is a head-scratcher. Gotta be a trade coming. Just a guess but maybe the Rockies figure Cuddyer opts for FA in hopes of getting a 2 or 3 year deal so by extending him a QO they secure compensation.

November 4, 201411 yr QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 3, 2014 -> 08:28 PM) Anyone got a link following QOs? http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/11/twel...ing-offers.html
November 4, 201411 yr QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 3, 2014 -> 07:16 PM) or this was Cuddyer way of saying FU for giving me a QO. He's going to be lucky to get $8-10 million per year on a 3-year deal on the open market because of his age and defense. They're giving Cuddyer a gift by paying him $14.3 million or $15.3 million for one season, unless his career's totally going to fall off a cliff this year performance-wise.

But if history is any indication, no one is going to give him that with the draft pick attached.
