  1. Wow. What a f***ing terrible game. Their pitcher has a s***ty era and we manage one f***ing run. Paulino is s***. I'd rather lose with a young starter.
  2. Wish we could package Beckham for some pitching
  3. Our pitchers have given up only 1 HR this year, albeit in six games. Tied for the fewest in the majors.
  4. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 03:53 PM) Looks like he's the bigger, stronger kid brother, and a switch hitter to boot. We'll need some of that. He's Conor's brother?
  5. I would take pitching. But if they think Jackson is a sure thing then I'm good with that also. But load up on pitching and you can always trade for developing hitters.
  6. I'm fine with the lineup. Keep Ramirez and Flowers where they are. You can mess with De Aza and Gillaspie. Gillaspie has been hitting well.
  7. Nice. I liked him a lot with Atlanta. Hope he returns to form somehow. Unlikely but hope so.
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 01:30 AM) The thinking is 1-3 spots via free agency when the time comes to compete. At least that's what I heard. Around 40 million annual. 40 mil annual? Combined FAs is that what you mean?
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 01:27 AM) Rowand/crede/ajp etc were a huge reason they won a title. Everyone liked each other. The chemistry from the lineup to the pen was unreal. To this day these guys stay in touch. Uribe was such a sleeper. Not the best at English but the best clubhouse guy. He brought that infield together. Uribe is absolutely loved in LA clubhouse.
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 11:09 PM) All I've heard from inside is how different this team is. Last yea they supposedly checked out at one point. Eaton apparently wore on the vets on his old team, here he is one of the biggest leaders. That's good for us. That's great for us. I love eaton on this team. Just gota add the right pieces around him and this pitching staff.
  11. Haven't really paid attention to the hitters in this draft. Anyone worth taking at 3?
  12. This will be the first draft I'm all over. Hope we get a really good pitcher
  13. Abreu has dropped at least 4 balls that I know of.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 04:52 PM) Not to nitpick, but Davidson turned 23 a couple weeks ago. I said August 1st for his first game. Oh ok well he was 22 when we got him. No biggie. He went 2-4 today with 2 doubles and 2 RBIs. No Ks is nice
  15. Watching Reed now. Leadoff base hit to CarGo. Walks Tulo. 1st and 3rd no outs.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 04:52 PM) Just worth pondering whether he's ever actually had a coach tell him the right way to handle that play, and then follow it up with practice and video of what the mistake was. Well they got a nice plane ride to show him video and coach him.
  17. It's great to see runs scored other than the long ball. Those will come
  18. Before the game i said June 1st. The better Conor plays I'm fine with Davidson in the minors. He's 22. Would be nice for Conor to have a good year so maybe we can package him at the deadline
  19. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 04:36 PM) Don't forget, IIRC, we also got to .500 on May 26th of last year after our sweep of Miami. Don't get too excited. Well I'm not expecting to be. Just a nice first week
  20. Good to get to .500 (it's early) Gillaspie had a nice day. Alexei was good Flowers actually hitting is nice
  21. I think they'll coach Abreu a bit and he'll be a little better with the whole leaning off first to get a ball
  22. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 04:02 PM) Thank god for insurance runs. 1-run saves are going to be, what? 50% conversion rate? 30%
