  1. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Dec 25, 2016 -> 09:29 PM) ? Glasnow is easily the best of those 3. Dominated at every level of the minors and didn't even do that bad in his first callup with everything going wrong for him. Not high on meadows. Fills a need I just don't think he's anything special. I don't think the pirates want to trade meadows or bell. Meadows is their cf of the future and bell will contribute right away at the MLB level. Prospects that very well could be in play : Glasnow, Newman, Keller, Hayes, Craig, tucker, Diaz, etc I think the issue is the white sox would require four of those guys in a Quintana deal, too high of a price for them. If they can move cutch they can help offset the prospect cost by including what they get for him.
  2. QUOTE (staxx @ Dec 25, 2016 -> 09:17 PM) I would take Severino for Robertson for sure Maybe, but I think Robertson might have motor value at the deadline than he does right now
  3. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 25, 2016 -> 03:23 PM) MLB's eight potential trades has three Sox deals. All of those offers are terrible Sox would reject every one of those
  4. QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 25, 2016 -> 02:00 PM) Except the free agent market is a little more saturated with pitchers next year plus the changes in team compensation probably decreases the chances he would get traded next offseason if he's still around. The Trade Deadline probably wouldnt happen either. Alot of these guys they are probably asking for will be playing. We've already seen how hesitant teams are to trade players that are contributing on the club in the middle of the season. So the previous post was correct. They need to trade him now if they actually want to. Hahn will take his time in getting the right haul for their final blue chip trade piece
  5. QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 25, 2016 -> 01:46 PM) Couldn't disagree more. It's all speculation dude. Half a year of Samdazjiezyeahhh got the too SS prospect in the game, the number four prospect in baseball at the time. No one knows what we could get now, or at the deadline, or next year, or in three years. Only thing that isn't speculative is this: if Quintana keeps pitching the way he has - he'all always be in demand and will always command a haul. Sox could get a ton at the deadline or next offseason, but most likely he gets dealt fairly soon
  6. QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 24, 2016 -> 11:24 PM) Completely hypothetical 3 way with Jays and Pirates: Jays get Cutch Pirates get Q, Reid-Foley Sox get Glasnow, Newman, Vlad Jr., & Tellez Seems steep for the blue jays, and light for the pirates to give up
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 24, 2016 -> 03:45 PM) Pirates the trade Marte to open up salary for Jones. (Am I joking?) I'd be so pissed if I were a pirates fan to hear Quintanas contract is an issue
  8. QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 07:17 PM) Getting the feeling that nothing is all that close to being finalized. We haven't heard anything about talks advancing. I still have a feeling Houston finds a way to get a deal done. Maybe martes/tucker/reed/perez
  9. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 04:40 PM) Do the Sox take on McCutchen and then flip him if he truly is a salary dump for the Pirates? If so, what kind of package could come back with him for Q? I don't see the sox taking mccutchen back. They want prospects in return.
  10. QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 04:25 PM) Probably watching Bregman and Meadows, and saying why didn't we make THAT happen? There is zero chance the Astros were ever going to deal bregman, even for sale. He'll be their third baseman long term
  11. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 04:19 PM) Now that's close. I'll probably say Rutherford, but won't judge anyone who says Tucker. I think Rutherford will be that good though. No joke here, after the Quintana deal finally happens, what are we going to talk about all off-season? Or just sit back and admire our new prospect toys and stacked farm system?
  12. QUOTE (Buehrlesque @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 04:05 PM) Question to fill the time: Who would you guys rather have, Blake Rutherford or Kyle Tucker? Very tough call on tucker vs Rutherford. I might lean tucker, but it's close
  13. QUOTE (New Era on South Side @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 03:44 PM) Nice segment raBBit, you sounded a lot more educated than the usual suspects on that show. For those of you who want a summary, there wasn't much more than we've already discussed here. He brought up the individual players, how the Pirates have budget constraints so they may need to deal McCutchen, discussed the Sox new moves internally with scouting and player development and discussed the packages that Hahn might come back with (likely four players). Futuresox.com was mentioned as well. It was a good segment Glasnow is legit, I have no issue stocking up on premium arms Too much talk about bell though. Pittsburgh likely wants to keep him and might be willing to move Newman or other prospects
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 03:43 PM) If they are willing to give up McCutchen instead to get more prospects from the Yankees, more power to them. I am not particular about where the kids come from, but I am particular about getting a big haul for Q. If that means getting guys like Andujar and Rutherford from the Yankees instead, cool. Does cutch really make that much sense for the Yankees? That team really needs pitching
  15. QUOTE (ChiSox1917 @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 12:16 PM) Am I the only one that would rather have Keller than Glasnow if the Pirates are truly saying Meadows is untouchable? Keller has great control, but Glasnow has the ability to flat out dominate hitters. If he can improve his control he could be an ace. Keller could become a mid rotation starter, but unlikely to ever be an ace
  16. QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 11:22 AM) not really. They have one in rodon. So they need 4 of the following Giolito Kopech Lopez Glasnow Dunning Newman Hansen Adams Only half need to perform and they should have a lower bust rate than the average prospects as many of them have had really good success in the upper minors. There is always a risk with pitchers however with the numbers, I think its a pretty good chance. What about fulmer, Stephens or burdi as well?
  17. QUOTE (Moncada @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 10:25 AM) We need potential elite hitter not more pitchers. Give me guys like Glasnow and Keller any day. You never can have too much pitching I obviously want position players as well
  18. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 10:19 AM) Would you guys be happy with Glasnow/Diaz from the Pirates, and Rutherford/Andujar from the Yankees? Glasnow, Rutherford, andujar, Diaz would be a very solid haul
  19. QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 06:24 PM) I've also heard it's possible for Bell to move into a corner OF position 45 run tool likely limits him to 1b or dh He could possibly play a crappy left field if he had to though?
  20. QUOTE (beautox @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 05:37 PM) Glasnow or Meadows/Bell/Newman or Hayes/Escobar or Hearn is a great haul for Q Diaz being a defensive minded 26 year old back stop shouldn't be a priority for the sox right now, focus on Collins developing and potentially getting a Kelly/Stubbs/Severino/Barnes/Plawecki/Swihart with a later trade of Jones or Robertson. If the pirates are serious, the offer would have to be something like Glasnow, bell and Newman They keep meadows as their future center fielder. White sox compromise, but acquire three top fifty prospects. Bell can play 1b and do with a plus hit tool Newman also has a plus hit tool and would fit at second base Glasgow has ace potential Deal really makes sense for each team if glasnow, meadows plus more can't get done
  21. QUOTE (Username @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 05:19 PM) Did Heyman have any indication of how far along anything is? I doubt any deal is close. White sox will insist Glasgow and meadows are in the deal. Glasgow, bell, Newman and Hayes would not be too shabby though
  22. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 04:31 PM) Assuming no more moves, this how I think our lineup would shake out: 1B: Abreu 2B: Lawrie SS: Anderson 3B: Frazier LF: Cabrera CF: Tilson/Liriano RF: Garcia DH: Davidson Not that I agree with it, but I think they plan on giving Avi one last shot in RF. And with Melky unlikely to be moved, I don't see an everyday spot for both Tilson & Liriano. I actually don't see a way that San Diego is not the worst team in baseball That rotation is awful

  24. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 04:07 PM) I think an idea for a #2 and a solid addition to pitch behind the resurrected Clayton Richard would be JAMES SHIELDS! Why not, they are paying half his salary anyway. Sox of course would pick up the tab for the flight back to SD. We still need Shields to go out there and get lit up for 200 innings per year Somebody has to go out there and pitch
  25. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 03:53 PM) Lmfao legit laughed out loud on my train at this comment. San Diego does have the worst rotation in the MLB by a very long way It's not crazy to think that our AAA rotation might actually be better than their MLB rotation this season Clayton Richard is arguably their #1 right now
