My brother and I have been to at least 50 games over the past two seasons and I've only seen him hit one HR (the 1st inning shot I believe you are talking about) and my brother still has never. Its nuts.
That was a decent crowd. Usually my walk back to my creative parking spot W on 35th is just me and my brother, today it was a procession. There's some buzz now, hopefully more tomorrow.
IIRC Robin held everyone in that 8th inning on a very short leash and eventually just broke down and brought in the guy he could count on to win the Sox the game. That's pretty good managing if you ask me.
When Adam Eaton was trying to hit a Grand Slam base hit with the bases empty it was pretty clear the Sox were trying way too hard to do way too much instantaneously.
Sox do not play by 100 pitch count hard cap. Teams think they have a guy on the ropes but Robin/Coop bring them out there with 110 pitches thrown and its not what opponents are expecting. I personally like it.
