  1. Exactly these rest days are driving me nuts. Does the manager realize this team is 10 games under .500 and to get back to .500 and contend for the division you have to put the A-team out there unless they are injured or just worn out. Right now I don’t think anyone on the team is worn out, win now and worry about rest later in the season.
  2. A sobering thought, since after the 2021 All Star game the Sox are basically a .500 club except they threw that 10 game losing streak into the equation. So for this team getting back to .500 and beyond just might be something that you don’t want to call your bookie about unless he gives you overwhelming odds and you have some mad money to blow. Am I giving up? Not yet, I’ve been following baseball for 7 decades and I’ve seen a lot of crazy things so anything can happen especially with 4 months to go.
  3. Our illustrious lead off hitter has 8 walks for the year, that’s pathetic.
  4. That’s why you put your best team out there every game unless a guy is really hurt. These rest days and Sunday lineups have to cease. The Rays get away with it because every position player is a major leaguer, not AAAA guys.
  5. The 1973 mediocre Mets won 82 games, won the Division, won the playoff series and almost won the WS losing to the A’s in 7 games, right now I’d take that.
  6. I miss the Go Go Sox years so much, from 1951 through 1967 the Sox were 380 games over .500. The W-L record was 1499-1119 for a .573 winning percentage. I did the homework awhile back and the only teams IIRC that won more games in those years were the Yankees and Dodgers.
  7. Right now I’m leaning for Jake to take over at first base with Vaughn and Sheets platooning as DH. I was expecting big things from AV but he’s regressing and where the hell are the home runs from him.
  8. We might have a second baseman.
  9. I watch most of the Rays games and intensity of the Rays players compared to to Sox players is huge, we have some guys that look like they’re going through the motions and seem like they would rather be somewhere else.
  10. Super outing again by Kopech, great to see. Sox make the most of 4 hits with 6 runs. On to Detroit for 4 games, need to win 3 of them.
  11. Romy comes through again!
  12. 3 things: A terrible owner that has hired incompetents at the Major and Minor league levels including TLR. Dissension on the team with TA most likely the cause of it. Too many injuries.
  13. Yep, Burger was pathetic with 5Ks and only able to foul off a couple of pitches.
  14. Anderson needs to shut his mouth and let his bat do the talking, I can see where his teammates might not be enamored with him and his inane statements like comparing himself to Jackie Robinson and saying he’s still the best player on the field.
