10 for your personal Hall of Shame
All four of them in 79 had winning records along with the righty Francisco Barrios who also had a winning record but the team still finished around 15 games under.500.

Hunter Renfroe to KC
If they are tanking then a whole lot of bodies need to be moved, I haven’t seen that yet.

Hunter Renfroe to KC
I don’t understand the mindset of the front office right now, are they going to try to put a competitive team on the field or are we in for a tank job.

New York Mets sign Trayce Thompson to a minor league deal
Right on, I've always liked the guy, just a shame such a great fielder just can't hit, good luck to him. I'm still hoping the Sox can sign Kevin Keirmaier for right field, if he can stay healthy he would be a very good addition, the guy gives 100% and maybe some of it would rub off on some of our guys like Moncada. Right now the Sox have 2 legitimate MLB outfielders on the roster in Robert and Benintendi, they have Sheets and Colas listed on the 40 man roster, we have to do better than that.

This Day In Sox History...December 11
I have to say I always liked Ernie Banks, I was a die hard Sox fan but lived in Rogers Park and up to 1960 attended a lot more Cubs games because they played day games and my parents allowed me to go to Wrigley with friends, my first Cub game was in 1955 with my Cub Scout Pack and 1957 was the first time I went to Wrigley with friends naturally on the “L” from the Loyola-Sheridan station, we were 11 years old, can anyone imagine parents allowing 11 year olds to go anywhere in this day age without adults.

This Day In Sox History...December 11
I remember the Don Young incident and that’s when the downhill slide started for the 69 Flubs . Do you remember Santo clicking his heels after a Wrigley Field win on the way to the Flubs clubhouse which was way down the left field line in those days, stupid antics.

Hate to speak ill of the dead but Santo was a jerk and IMHO should not be in the Hall of Fame.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto got $325 million 12 years from Dodgers (+posting fee)
You think ticket, beer, hot dog and peanut prices are high now, a working man with a family will have to take out a second mortgage to go to a ball game. Small market teams won’t be able to compete at all and we will probably see some teams either fold or try to move to larger markets if there are any left, Montreal would be a possibility.

Seaver and Pasqua played with the Sox during the JR regime which unfortunately is still with us.

Ohtani Watch: Dodgers sign - 700M over 10yrs
We’ve been in Florida 30 years and yes when I do return to visit relatives I’ve noticed that the Cubs get most of the air time. It’s not new and I remember it was that way in the starting in 1982 when the Tribune bought the Cubs and Harry Caray became the Cubs TV play by play guy however the Sox did become the first Chicago baseball team to draw 2 million in 1983. The Sox became a little bit more relevant in the early 90s with the new stadium and good teams but except for 1991 the Cubs have out drawn the Sox 99% of the time even in 2005 and 2006. Trouble with the Sox down through the years was never being able to sustain long periods of great teams unless you go back to the 17 straight winning seasons in the GO GO era and even then because of the Yankees they only made it to the World Series one time in 1959.

Ohtani Watch: Dodgers sign - 700M over 10yrs
The summer sports segment on the news on the local Chicago stations would be 99% about Ohtani and the Cubs with the remaining 1% the score of the Sox game, maybe.

Ohtani Watch: Dodgers sign - 700M over 10yrs
Yeah, but the odds are in our favor, we’re due for an owner who has deep pockets and cares about the fans.

1959 team RIPs
Hicks never got much of a chance with the Sox, played a few games in 59 and 60 then was picked by the Angels in the 1960 Expansion Draft who a short time later traded him to the new Washington Senators, the other new expansion team for the 1961season.

What are the Sox trying to do here, really?
I was never a big fan of Veeck going back to his first stint as Sox owner but he had more class in his baby finger than Reinsdorf and Einhorn would ever hope to have.

What are the Sox trying to do here, really?
They’re putting the fan base in fits of depression where it gets so bad that the base won’t give 2 ***** if the Sox move to Nashville or wherever, in fact we will probably welcome it and there is always the possibility that the Sox leave town before the lease on Sox Park expires, leases can be broken. So far this off season has been a complete bust with not one iota to get even half way excited about. IMHO this is being done with an objective in mind.

Jerry visits Nashville mayor
They have a new deal, the new stadium is going to be very close to where the Trop is which I think is a terrible decision but it’s all the Rays could get. The new park will be part of a fairly large entertainment area like the Braves have near Atlanta, maybe it will work but a huge segment of the metro area still lives in Tampa and it’s a real pain for fans to drive down to St. Pete, besides fans who live east of the Bay itself, they have to go way out of the way to get to the Trop.
-
Jerry visits Nashville mayor
Right now the White Sox are 1A and the Rays 1B so it would be easy to make the Rays 1A but I want the Sox to remain in the city of my birth forever, it would break my heart if they left Chicago and ceded the city to the Flubs. BTW the Lightning have been 1A in my heart for awhile now with the Blackhawks hardly on my radar anymore.

Your Personal Sox Likeability Hall Of Fame
Billy was IMHO the most likable of them all, a great guy and a class act.
-
Sox Sign Erick Fedde - 2 years, $15 million
He might be able to fix his mechanics but it’s his head that’s the problem.
-
Sox Sign Erick Fedde - 2 years, $15 million
Based on his career stats it’s not even a gamble, it’s more like hoping for a miracle, am I missing something.

10 for your personal Hall of Shame
The Road Runner was Ralph Garr, not Claudell Washington. I never had a problem with Garr, he wasn’t the greatest left fielder but he was usually around .300 and never dogged it.
-
10 for your personal Hall of Shame
Part of 1978, all of 1979 and part of 1980. Had the tools but the joke about him was “Washington Slept Here”. The word hustle was alien to him.

10 for your personal Hall of Shame
Any White Sox Hall of Shame list must include Claudell Washington.

Morosi: Wouldn’t be surprised if Robert is traded
- Morosi: Wouldn’t be surprised if Robert is traded
You trade them if the deals are overwhelmingly in our favor where the Sox get pieces that can make the team competitive without going through another rebuild. I’m not sure if that is possible as Cease isn’t exactly Nolan Ryan, Robert should be able to bring in a nice haul. The Rays have figured out how to make trades like this, can Getz figure it out. - Morosi: Wouldn’t be surprised if Robert is traded
