  1. love maggs. a lot. but I'm not sure it's wise to be paying him huge dollars five years from now. By then, you hope one of these guys -- Brian Anderson, Ryan Sweeney, Ricardo Nanita, Thomas Brice or Chris Young -- has stepped forward to replace him. for now, I'd be much happier if the Sox did something novel -- like win a game.
  2. put Rooney and Farmio on a TV radio simulcast.
  3. Carlos knew Rodriguez was coming at him with a fastball. Got one close to center cut. The guy has one of the nastiest sliders around (see video of 2002 World Series). He hit the ball hard -- but out. I got NO problem with that.
  4. Always have been and always be a Maggs fan. The injury has made a bad situation worse. He's feeling the pressure to get back and put up numbers in his walk year. The Sox haven't made it any better by complaining about him in the press. If they've made the determination he's NOT going to resign then I'm all for trading him because the draft choice route doesn't thrill me. But the soap opera part of the story needs to end.
  5. they need to announce a signing to stop most of us from continuing to mope about what happened at Wrigley over the weekend, which was sickening.
  6. one solid inning every two years is a start.
  7. Nomar needs to get his head out of his ass. He's been slow to rehab and pouting because Boston tried to trade him. He wasn't enthused about coming to Chicago when that deal for Maggs was discussed last winter. He's in a funk -- and there's hardly a guarantee he would come out of it in Chicago. Plus his wild-ass throws ARE worse than Jose. Stick with Jose, Jose, Jose. If we're going to add something, add another pitcher, a left-handed bat or a catcher. Just say NO to Nomar.
  8. To Andy Gonzalez: Do you see yourself as a shortstop or third baseman as you advance through the White Sox system? To Casey Rogowski: Is this the best you've felt physically and do you believe you need to improve your power numbers to make the Sox get more excited about you? To any player at Kanny or WS: Who is the best pitching prospect at the lower levels of the Sox farm system?
  9. getting swept by these turds is going to be a heavy burden for the rest of the year -- and beyond. NO SWEEP!
  10. actually it's not our last interleague game got to play a makeup game against philly on Aug. 30 at least it will be in our park -- with the DH. Our record in games in NL parks without the DH is 2-6. ugly.
  11. let's put some hits together. I'm tired of all these 0000000000000s
  12. Nomar showed a bad 'tude against the Yankees. He made three errors in that series. He's got chronic problems with his wrist. He's not hitting the way he used to. He's probably interested in going to the West Coast next year. Other than that, it would be a great pickup. Just say NO to NO-mar.
  13. watch Crede homer and then we don't get to play the bottom of the inning that would enrage me -- especially after the grand salami we had taken away yesterday
  14. we need a big fly.
  15. Wow

That's why so many Cubs pitchers have arm problems. Dusty is going to burn that staff out in two years or less. book it
  16. we all need to ignore Eddie Munster.
  17. Adkins, not Rauch, warming wassup with that?
  18. get Diaz OUT NOW Farmer said he's tipping his pitches. Martinez pointing to dugout telling them what's UP
  19. bottom of their order he'd better breeze
  20. start over 0-0 without Maddu and some cheese wiz cubs' Number 6 starter tomorrow. or continue down 3-0 in a game that could be rained out after five innings, considering it could rain all day. Nothing would be worse than losing a 4 1/2 inning game. that ain't being pessimistic. that's looking for an edge. rain, rain, rain
  21. Rooney and Farmer just said the showers are supposed to be passing through for the rest of the day. rain this puppy out play two tomorrow We start Rauch and they can start some scrapdog. RAIN DANCE EVERYBODY RIGHT NOW
  22. yeahhhhhhh it's rainining rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rainnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
  23. looks like it's getting dark. maybe this game will be rained out -- real damn quick
  24. I got hope, but you can't be getting beat on two-run homers by Rey Ordonez. That's freakin unacceptable.
  25. he throws it down the middle because he doesn't have any command Maddux, meanwhile, is getting the outside strike and if that continues, we got problems. Big problems.
