  1. Box score says Womack is at 3rd with Ramos at DH. Another thing Bloom got wrong?
  2. 9th hitter hit a HR, but he thought it was the lead off hitter. Then he was one hitter behind for the rest of the inning.
  3. Bush fell apart in the 6th. 4 runs, 2 HR. Curt Bloom lost track of who was hitting so it got extra frustrating.
  4. Gonzalez hits into a DP but it was a one hop rocket to 1b. He looks so much better when he pulls the ball.
  5. The HR confirms my thoughts about him pulling the ball more. His swing to LF reminds me of Robin Ventura, it's unnatural and awkward. I believe, like Ventura, maybe he's better off goin LCF to dead pull and give up trying to go the other way.
  6. DSL wins 2-0. Mogollon 1-4, Nunez 2-3, Gil 2bb.
  7. Oppor 2IP 0H 0R 0ER 0bb 2K.
  8. The single Comas gave up should have been a force out. Camilletti muffed it.
  9. 2-0 Barons. RBI Colson, error lets second run score.
  10. Barons game is like a Sox game. Top of the innings are taking forever. Cannon has been good, but they're making him work. Barons are up and down quickly so far.
  11. His single was hit pretty hard tonight, but yeah, he has not been impressive so far.
  12. No Quero or Tatum today for Barons.
  13. Baldwin is off to a nice start in A+. The fact they have him playing ss could really improve his versatility. I think he's played every position except catcher this year.
  14. Check that 10-1. Veras crushed his 32nd double of the year.
  15. Barons have broken it open. Ramos hits a scorcher to drive in 2. 9-1 Birmingham.
  16. Charlotte blows it (again) in the 9th. Navarro walks a couple of guys and then serves up a 2-out 3-run dong to Rowdy Tellez.
  17. I believe that home run (94.5) does not count as a hard hit ball.
  18. Nastrini finishes strong 6IP 6H 1R 1ER 1bb 10K 64 of 93 pitches for strikes.
  19. Nastrini K's the side. He's up to 8 in 5IP. Only 13 balls in play, 6 have gone for hits cuz babip.
  20. Another blooper against Nastrini, then a single off of Ramos' glove. He gets his 5th K to get out of it, but the pitch count rises. He's earning time off Purgatory, as my mother would say.
  21. 3-1 Barons. Nastrini has had some awful batted ball luck. 2 of the 4 hits are bloopers. As a result, there have been a lot of extra pitches, but he looks pretty good.
  22. Batista done 5IP 3H 0R 0ER 2bb 4K. Looked really under control. None of the hits were hit particularly hard. His pitch count was low. Looked like he could have gone much longer.
  23. The way other teams approach Birmingham tells you that they think highly of Montgomery as well. When he's in the line up, you see a lot of lefty relievers and they rarely give him anything to hit. They come right after everyone else, except Popeye because he expands the zone.
  24. He’s made five errors. I think mostly on throws. In some ways, he reminds me of Montgomery. He hesitates sometimes and ends up throwing way high. Otherwise, he’s been fine. I want to make something clear, his swing is not radically changed from college. I think he’s a little more closed and not flying open as much, and it feels like his feet are planted more. In college, he looked almost like he was emulating the Japanese swing. But it is not much different, he is still open and crouched.
