  1. I think that's who they're going to use to get a Trevor Bauer type. We don't have what they need.
  2. Possible reclamation, but it would be a huge risk: Chris Archer. Pirates insist everyone throw their sinker, but his is getting killed. If you don’t give up much of value but eat his salary, I could see getting him to throw 4 seam, lots of sliders, and the change and maybe he bounces back. Obviously, they’re never getting close to what they gave up to get him. Yet another cautionary tale, do not trade with Tampa.
  3. Man, they are swinging at fricking everything. Sure strike 3 was bad, but Yolmer swung at 2 pitches over his head.
  4. 1 guy worked a count, 1 guy has a hit, coincidence?
  5. I think he junked it. Now it's slider/change. I don't think Castillo calls as good a game as McCann.
  6. Another friend of Manny that I will be happy to say goodbye to.

2 walks already for Hansen, both on 3-2 pitches plus a hit that was a medium pop Gonzalez lost in the sun.
  8. Yeah, I didn’t see until after the post went up. Doesn’t make a heck of a lot of sense to me, but a lot of what Ricky does doesn’t make sense to me.
  9. If he doesn’t play tonight, I doubt he’ll play tomorrow with the off day Monday. Don’t want him hurt for the Cubs either.
  10. I would look to acquire bulk young pitching like the Eaton deal. We have had a lot of injuries and after Cease, the cupboard is almost completely bare of even back of the rotation possibilities. I would be willing to package minor league position players to do it. Sadly, not a lot of guys are having appealing years.
  11. Sure. But I would also point out that he’s 27.
  12. Cordell is a very good defensive right fielder, who thus far has shown neither the ability to manage the strike zone nor the ability to crush mistakes ala Palka. The sound the ball makes coming off his bat sounds like a wet kitchen sponge being hit with a roll of Christmas wrap. Very similar to Adam Engel, imho.
  13. Fry never looked like Bummer. Sure, if you get the equivalent of Gleybar Torres for him, sure. If you get a prospect in the area of Tilson, Cordell, Medeiros, etc., then no way.

Maybe both. I am of the opinion that Hansen’s problem is repeating his delivery rather than an inability to stay focused, but both seemed to have worked for Lucas, so...

Lucas Giolito needs to introduce Hansen to his high school coach.
  16. No one remembers their pitching.
  17. Doesn’t sound like it.
  18. I swear Ricky has added a run to Gio’s career ERA by leaving him in and letting inherited runs score the last two years
  19. Yankee announcers can’t believe Renteria is making Giolito pitch this inning.
  20. Thanks. I live in NYC and MLB blacked out. They are impressed with Eloy who now has 4 homers against them in 5 games.
  21. I am watching the Yankee broadcast, which I despise, and watching the Yankees slow down every at bat. Let’s beat these guys.
  22. If we're going to start trading players with 5 years of control remaining, where does it end? Why not just trade Giolito? I mean, I bet teams are interested in him too.
  23. Imagine adding Cease, Robert, and getting Kopech back. Even if they don't win the division, next year is going to be fun.
  24. Why the heck would you sign Vaughn for slot? He was never going 1 or 2 and Miami wasn't taking him. Anything above slot for 5 is the best he was ever going to do.
  25. Just went over the schedule. If Sox are willing to a) start Nova on short rest b) watch Banuelos get his brains beat in on the regular, they don't really need a 5th starter until June 26th at Boston. Covey might be back by then. I would still bring Cease up because I don't want to watch Banuelos, but he will help our draft position.
