Adrian Houser traded to TB for former top prospect Curtis Mead
Personally, I think there are 3 really great players at the top: Cholowsky, Emerson, and Lombard. Emerson is my current flavor, but any one of them would probably be the Sox top prospect immediately. So, I think anything in the Top 3 would be great. Because of the lottery penalties, I would prefer 7 to 4-6, but that could change. I'm not necessarily jazzed about LeBron or Burress.

Robert stays...
Have you seen what's left of the Twins roster? Between trading 8 guys and all the injuries, that team is not good. Not saying the Sox are world-beaters, but the Twinkies are in for a very rough second half.

DFA's?
The Sox 40 man is at 38, so anything's possible, but strangely their active roster is starting to get a little crowded. Anyone they pick up has to be better than what they got. I guess a right-handed hitting outfielder to replace Slater? But otherwise, they have a full roster and reasonably cromulent guys at AAA. I'd be surprised if they did too much dumpster diving now.

Houser to Rays
Interesting mix of players considering they've struggled to get Meidroth and Sosa on the field at the same time. Adding another rightie to the mix is gonna be complicated. I would love to see Vargas at 3b and Colson at ss full-time. After that, I'm pretty agnostic. Have no need to see Rojas anymore.

Don't break it ALL down. Go for 63!!!!!
Unless the Sox close like the 2024 Tigers, they are definitely gonna have one of the three worst records, therefore they could win as many games as possible and still have good odds. It’s all gonna come down to lottery luck. So far, the bad teams have not gotten lucky. i do think there is value to a young team learning to win and gelling as a group. We can only speculate as to how much the constant losing affected Vaughn’s development. Showing up to lose every day wears on guys and you’d like some momentum headed into 2026. I wouldn’t rush into trading guys just to save JR cash and then getting MiLB roster filler.

SEA acquires Eugenio Suarez from AZ
Bad timing for Sox, but it’ll give Shane Smith another shot at hitting him.

Cubs acquire old friend Michael Soroka
Bet they move him back to the pen. Fastball really plays up in shorter stints.

And that's a White Sox series winner over Philly: Sox 8-4 post ASB
3 rookies w/HR? One of the best wins of the year.

Bonemer with 2 doubles and a HR. Second double missed going out by like 2 feet.

2025 MiLB Catch All thread
Gonzalez is gonna like hitting in that park. Will be interesting to see whether the power develops now that he is out of Birmingham. If he does not hit for power, hard to see a path for him.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
I doubt the Sox are in on Vientos. They have been prizing defense and controlling the zone. Those are two Vientos weaknesses. Also, he’s a 1b/3b tweener like Vargas, who has been quite a bit worse than Vargas this year. Plus, he’s gonna be arb eligible with only 4 years of control. But maybe Gene Watson loves him?

Adrian Houser traded to TB for former top prospect Curtis Mead
I don’t think the Sox are gonna get him, but I believe Alcantara is for sure gonna get dealt. His expiration date is rushing towards us. He’s always been mostly young and toolsy with production TBD. He has not really had any period of great production. I bet the Cubs cash him in.

2025 Trade deadline rumors thread
I am on record as saying I don’t want Crawford. Pretty much for anything. I mean, Altavilla or something, but for Taylor?! Crawford cannot pull the ball. He cannot hit balls in the air. He’s fast, but he’s not Chandler Simpson. And there’s doubt about whether he sticks in center. There’s real Juan Pierre in left field vibes here. I would avoid.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
The return is gonna bum me out regardless. It is so rare for the Sox to have a top 10 prospect or a potential 5 tool talent. For it to end this way with Robert is sort of crushing. It’s the way it has to be, but I am going to mourn what might have been.

Dbacks trade Josh Naylor to Seattle
Civale is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year.

Dbacks trade Josh Naylor to Seattle
Do you think the Sox are ready to spend on vets? I'm more asking a question than having an opinion on Naylor. I'd imagine not losing 100 games 4 years in a row might be a goal, but it's not the way this team is behaving.

Dbacks trade Josh Naylor to Seattle
What are people willing to pay Naylor? 3/45? 2/25? I don’t even know what his market is gonna be. I don’t think the Sox are ready to hang a long contract to a good-not-great player heading into his 30s. If he’s reasonable, sure. He’s way better than Ryan Noda, but the last thing the Sox need is a brand new Benintendi contract during a rebuild.
