  1. pretty telling that they pitch to abreau and don't walk him to face garcia. No one is that afraid of Abreau right now... making himself too easy of an out.
  2. A slump was going to happen. Does that mean tehy will rebound? not neccessarily. But much too early to panic.
  3. Great start... hopefully the bullpen comes back around.
  4. I really don't get the "good basetball" game and we lost. I thought our batters today reminded me of the last few years. In the last 4 innings especially we swung it seemed like at every pitch well inside. It's like they had to catch a movie at 3 o clock or something. They didn't look mentally into it at all today.
  5. QUOTE (SCCWS @ May 11, 2016 -> 06:42 PM) Not really. Opponents were hitting .353 against him this season in daytime appearances. I guess Robin played the % and lost. The problem was that it was sanchez batting... not the pitcher.
  6. Didn't agree at all with the hit and run...
  7. Avi was doing great at not swinging at crap... last couple games I noticed he is starting to slowly fall back into the habit of being swing happy.
  8. I've always been apprehensive about Ventura - but I can't really blame him for last night. The Bullpen has had a couple rough nights in a row... it was going to happen eventually. Last night was horrible beyond belief - If I'm going to blame anyone its Albers... he might have been taxed or tired or a million different things. But on 2 strikes two batters in a row he left pitches right over the heart of the plate - those two bad pitches were the biggest reason we lost. He doesn't do that we still are up 11-8 or around that and the game is still ours. Now we just have to hope these guys can get their confidence back.
  9. That was one of the worse losses I can remember in a long time. They need to bounce back and shake it off.
  10. Albers two straight at bats with 2 strikes... throwing the ball right down the middle. WTF
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 9, 2016 -> 05:28 PM) You guys act like he's basically performing standup during the call. How many jokes does Jason crack during a full game?? Is he like Jay Leno?? A little levity is OK IMO. I mean is it Henny Youngman revisited? Is he doing this: "Hey Steve, a guy was walking on Lake Shore Drive when a guy approached him and said ..."hey guy can u spare a dollar?" Levity is fine. His voice is okay also. He says some things that are funny. But he also says some things that are Mad corny.
  12. I nearly forgot about the double play with 1 and 3 and 1 out.
  13. David Robertson has been solid this year.. but I've just never been overly confident in him. He seems soft.
  14. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 8, 2016 -> 11:33 PM) It was the most visceral reaction Stone has had since he joined the Sox broadcast. Proved how comfortable and excellent he can be acting as the true color man rather than being a bit player as Hawk dominates the broadcast, minimizing Stone's incredible incite. I think stone is decent... but I've never personally thought anything he said was "incredible insight." I never thought Hawk was Mr. Incredible insight either. I have to laugh though sir... you accused me of being "superlative" laden... when really that is so far from my style. Then in this one post you are heavy with the superlatives... "most visceral" ... "incredible"
  15. The Twinland joke was pretty hilarious..... I liked him a lot better a couple weeks ago. Last game, at times, he was way too corny. I think he could be good... but he has to learn the balance. Not everything that pops into his head is joke worthy.
  16. don't dislike the guy... but today he was pretty bad. Horrible jokes and some other things.
  17. That's two nights 1 and 3 and no one out and Abreu struck out. Can't have that S*** and Abreau knows it.
  18. Jose just has to get smarter at the plate... for as good as he is He could be a god if he would just learn to be more patient.
  19. 11-24 since April 25th... that was the first game I thought he looked different. Nearly hitting .500 over that time.
  20. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 6, 2016 -> 09:44 PM) I'm not buying it but I'm loving it for now. Hope he keeps this up! It's definitely early.. but he clearly is taking a much different approach. In the last two weeks when he played I saw him take more pitches then the entire last season...
