  1. I think South was agreeing with you for the most part... Robin used to argue a little bit but anymore he just bends over. I'd love Robin to coach my 5 year old kid but not the White Sox.
  2. My only thought is that Robin thinks being nice to the umpires means they will give you more calls... I've watched enough Tom Izzo to know that it doesn't work that way.
  3. told my buddy about Laz Diaz and he went off on how bad he is.. and my buddy is a giants fan. This guy sucks a lot.
  4. I seriously grab Abreu and say come with me this guy owes you an apology... don't say anything just come with me. I would have then demanded he apologize only with a lot of swear words... the umpire would prob just walk away but I would berate him.. Just to show my guy I'm going to stand up for him.
  5. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 09:03 PM) I'd have to agree since my previous post I sounded like a pissed offed manager going after the ump. It wouldn't change the outcome... but it's one of the many things that drives me crazy about Robin and the rest of them. They just bend over and take it..
  6. Jose finally plays it smart and lays off a bad pitch and the umpire rings him up. Jose needs to say something.. SOMEONE needs to say something. Will it change the outcome? no but that I what we do.. we just shrug and walk away. That's our energy.
  7. I just don't get it.. If I'm Robin or Cooper or anyone I'm out there throwing down on that. No way do I just walk out the ball park on that S**** No way. That umpire is a joke.
  8. No coach could ever keep their job in any sport as bad as this team is playing right now and after 3 losing seasons. I don't blame it all on Robin.. but the experiment is over. Need a fresh start... this is painful and we can't do this again next year.
  9. Shark is all bark and no bite. I thought he was some kind of tough guy with iron grit. But he sure likes to trickle games down his leg. Fraud it appears. I'm going to guess the white sox were shopping him and didn't get any good offers because teams are seeing how bad he is SEVENTEEN HOMERUNS he has given up on the season.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 10:15 PM) Game was lost in the 8th. Saladino missed 2 hangers one he didn't swimg at, Abreu didn't swing at one and struck out on a pitch a foot outside. I swear this team leads the universe in not swinging at hanging breaking balls.
  11. QUOTE (L. Ron Paultard @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 10:00 PM) haha, "Bad Body Language" has been practically the White Sox motto since the Franco-Prussian War. to those who follow this sorry team, just based on numbers and optics, how on earth has Todd Steverson and Robin not get fired like in May or early June. Talk about textbook definition of "unprepared + deer in headlights" collective look Mercy! This is the truth... I've never seen a team that played so scared and without confidence. Robin is a laid back dude... but his teams do NOT play laid back. It's a joke.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 09:50 PM) Second and third nobody out and that happens? LOL. Saladino - overmatched, whiff. Abreu - clueless on the strikeout pitch way outside of the zone; waved at it like a complete stiff. Melky - nice little drive to right; Royals have Sox scouted perfectly; Rios makes it look harder than it was. LOL. Failure. Bad teams don't score in that situation; we have a bad team! Abreu REALLY has to fix some of his horrible at bats. They guy gives away 30% of his at bats and still almost hits .300. It's ridiculous
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 09:50 PM) At least Trayce is 2-2. I have higher hopes for him than I do Saladino. ehhh... Trayce looks pretty stiff up there. Can't say I agree with that.
  14. QUOTE (oldsox @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 09:46 PM) If Sox need a low priced manager next year, try Skinner from Charlotte. He's paid his dues. I've never seen a team so mentally unprepared. Its a joke.
  15. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 09:48 PM) That's it, golden opportunity and nothing to show for it just like earlier in the year. You mean like all year... I've seen similar trickling down the leg type play all season.
  16. To me sorry that at least partially on the coaching staff... our guys look scared to death up there in those situations. Jose could be really good... but man he has some horrible at bats. Gets his head stuck real far up is ***
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 01:06 PM) Maybe the best post of the entire year Nm I guess its Stone who is out...
  18. QUOTE (LDF @ Aug 6, 2015 -> 11:38 PM) Really.... i thought about the avg.... but the power??? well that may put everything in a different light. thanks. Going by his minor league stats... he had one year where he hit 16 homers.. his batting avg has ranged from .245- .310
  19. QUOTE (LDF @ Aug 6, 2015 -> 11:01 PM) can you envision him hitting something like 15 hrs and a avg of 270?? That seems about right.
  20. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Aug 6, 2015 -> 07:04 PM) I agree but I would not switch this season. Sanchez's average is trending up and Saladino's is trending down. With each of them playing regularly, the Sox should get an idea of how their offense looks by Sept. I think each will settle around .240 hitters but Sanchez will be the better fielder and Saladino will have a little more speed and pop. Agree both cannot play regularly next year based on their offense so far. not sure how you could conclude that saladino isn't good enough of offense.. he doesn't have many PA's. I see a lot of potential in his bat... he has a good eye and a good swing with some pop. He has hit over .300 in the minors a few times.
  21. I like what I've seen from Saladino...he swings at strikes, is selective has a good swing. I'm hoping he is the answer at 3b... but that's a big need. Also if Avi can't be the guy we need another outfielder. Then there is LaRoche.. The thing is I don't think the Sox are that far away.
  22. Flowers isn't the biggest issue by any means but I think it's time to look for something else at that position.
  23. Definitely not rebuild time... we are better this year but still need a few pieces and a different coaching staff.
  24. QUOTE (Yoda @ Aug 4, 2015 -> 10:00 AM) McEwing should lose his job for that play. A team that is vying for a Wild Card spot means there is little to no room for fundamental hiccups like the one made last night. 1st and 3rd no outs… McEwing won't lose his job, unless maybe they tried to make him a fall guy for the failings of this staff - which from their mantra all year it doesn't appear they would do. KW and Ventura need to go... Hahn is still a question mark to me.
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 4, 2015 -> 09:54 AM) At the very least it is the worse thread titling... Could have fixed it for me? or just too much temptation for a passive aggressive internet moment. My bad!
