Per Passan: White Sox sign Munetaka Murakami 2 years 34M
Bob Sacamano replied to GreatScott82's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think it does. -
I also, have an idiot friend who kept accusing the Brewers of cheating the last about 3 months (and post season) of the year.
-
We need a Feinsand/Merkin bomb like last time. As in like 10 days ago.
-
Yeah maybe you can move Mead to a team looking for a cheap platoon Corner infielder for a PTBNL or something.

Not sure what’s so difficult to understand about this. -
They did get a couple of other arms with Mead in the Houser deal so that trade wouldn’t be a total waste if they do cut or trade him.

It’s in the comment Jimmy responded to (Ray Ray’s). -
They can’t draft higher than 10th in 2027. If both Murakami and Imai fall into their lap and you’re holding onto Robert because you don’t like offers, you might as well go semi-all in. Add Giolito. Add Bellinger. Add good talent while spending no draft picks.

Oh my f***. Ishbia effect!

I figured that. No way they were in on him until his market wasn’t there. Maybe the same can happen with Imai. Obviously not as cheap and short but still. Give him a deal similarly structured to Imanaga’s deal. -
The problem is, if you commit to him being full-time DH, you’re relegating Quero to the bench. And I’d rather rotate the catchers there to get them the most at bats in a lost season.
-
Yeah would have to be a hell of an overpay honestly.
-
Yeah. A team in a competitive window shouldn’t be gambling on guys like Bleday. But the 2 OF additions probably make up a platoon in one of the spots.
-
Doesn’t seem like they have room with the recent additions but I guess there could be a scenario where they move Steer (or Lux even) and Marte finds his way back into the IF mix at 1B/DH (hasn’t played 1B at any level…yet)

Chicago White Sox's Offseason FA Signings Trades Megathread

Well if you’re going to hold onto Robert and see if he can bounce back, might as well go all in and a potential top of rotation arm that won’t cost you a draft pick. Next year will only be his age 28 season. -

Yeah I don’t buy it -
Thank god someone else said it. He can’t play OF or run for that matter.
-
I hate the idea of making Quero a backup. I’d rather trade him while he still has some prospect/young player with 6 years of control shine for another area of need.
-
We basically have to pencil him in left. I feel like if he just DH’d he would be fine though. Unfortunately for him, we have 2 young catchers to get at bats for. I think if he struggles first few months, they could pull the plug.
-
Yeah, I’d be ok with that.
-
Teams aren’t going to pay up for 2 months
-
2 month rental bats don’t really bring much back. And that’s if he’s even both healthy and producing. Pretty gigantic “if.”
-
Really, it’s been one month in the last 2 years.
-
For the ass-eaters out there maybe
