  1. That is the more likely route. Trade off the rentals, trade off any dead money, and then sign stop gaps for next year. Basically what they would do if they blow it up and tease everyone anyway since they need some MLB filler. Hopefully, you’d have a couple more guys to deal next deadline.
  2. We should also be targeting more left-handed hitting.
  3. Huh? Who could the Sox have traded that would have been comparable? System is practically empty on upper minors pitching.
  4. Unfortunately Hahn trying to retool or build a contender is also problematic.
  5. I did forget TA was kinda dtd for a couple days, otherwise they wouldn’t have needed an extra bench IF.
  6. Yeah, I'd easily pick it up and listen to offers on him. If you don't like any offers, maybe you get a TA that is highly motivated for his next pay day.
  7. What's the league average slashline for 1B?
  8. Call up Colas and send Vaughn down and shift Sheets from RF to 1B. I'd be down with this.
  9. Probably, unless you are moving some money where you probably aren't getting much back (like Moncada, who I feel is untradeable anyway). Edit: Hahn and anyone in the front office getting replaced is probably wishful thinking anyway though.
  10. They're not going to be fired and replaced in the next month.
  11. The only guys I would really hold onto are Robert (controlled for 4 years), TA (I would definitely listen and want him off the team but maybe in a contract year, he will be more motivated), and maybe Cease (unless you are blown away by an offer). Otherwise, I would make everyone else available and move as much money off the books as possible.
  12. Andrus getting every day at bats on a “contender” is brutal.
  13. It didn’t really have to be an infielder since they had no intention of actually playing him.
  14. Yep. I think it's time to part ways with him unfortunately.
  15. We’re tired of you not producing this season.
  16. On our way to winning the division by default!
  17. Not a good team that still might win the division by default. Woof.
  18. I’ve wanted this for a while. Finally playing better defender at SS.
  19. I feel like a lot of people in Spring Training thought this guy would be a coach or even manager (can't quite remember) somewhere when he retires. If people think that highly of him, doesn't it make sense to maybe have a guy like that on at least your bench? Especially on a team which seems to lack baseball IQ? Granted, I'm not sure if anyone in the front office has really thought or said that. Edit: having said that, I would rather see Popeye play every day while he is here.
  20. Probably not but you never know. I would bet that no one thought Middleton or Santos would be useful this year and they are basically 2 of our best relievers.
  21. Just saw the play at home plate. Brutal call lol
  22. This feels like an easy Rangers -1.5 (+110) bet.
  23. That is ugly.
