To be fair, no one is talking about Conforto for this year. It wouldn’t stop them from getting a rental. You get him working with an organization’s staff this year and bank on him being 100% for next year.

Yeah I'd be all for Nimmo myself. Though Sheets, Pollock, Engel are guys I wouldn't count on fighting for 4 spots. Engel is a backup, Sheets is a DH and not needed if they grab a left-handed bat, and Pollock I don't really expect to be here or platoon at best, unless he turns it around this year.

They don't have the bullets to make a deal for Soto nor would extend him.

There's room for both Vaughn and Conforto to both be in the lineup next season. Doesn't have to be either/or. Plus, Engel can still get plenty of PT against lefties for Conforto and late inning defense for Vaughn/Eloy.

And why is someone acting like we already have too many good players? And also cites Pollock as being one of them? Definitely plenty of space to take a chance on someone.

Fortunately, Vaughn can also play 1B or LF so that scenario doesn’t matter or will exist next year. I also don’t expect Pollock back next year as more than a platoon OF if he picks up his option. Or released and eat the money.

Huh? Why would we say we were right? Lol we would have been wrong to sign him to a multi-year deal last off-season. Gambling on basically a one year deal while giving up nothing seems fine for a team that doesn’t have anything to trade or spend for a star RF. Better than playing non-DH’s out there.

I think he will see a decent amount of time at DH. It’s pretty much why I see Sheets going down assuming everyone is healthy.
