  1. Yeah I agree with you. A little confusing.
  2. This 1000000%. I don’t know how people give them benefit of the doubt when it comes to spending haha
  3. I’ve been in agreement with Jimmy that it was a mistake to not offer a QO. It will look worse if he signs say a 3 year deal somewhere. edit: someone here with in the pay month or so kicked around him signing a deal like Rich Hill did with the Dodgers where you know he’s going to be hurt at some point but whatever/whenever he pitches he will be good.
  4. Makes sense. Out of all the top middle infield talent out there, he’s one of the older ones at 31 so he won’t require a massive contract like Seager or Correa would.
  5. If he signs a multi year deal then I have to classify it as a failure. We shall see.
  6. Segura is still a solid player. I’m more afraid they will end up with Didi (or another 1-2 year bad salary) in a deal for Kimbrel where it doesn’t make sense.
  7. Exactly. You’d be looking to improve the position in June/July so just improve it now.
  8. An amount didn’t leak but there was a quote from last season where he basically said implied that he owed it to other pitchers to get paid. I’ll dig up the quote tomorrow unless someone beats me to it.
  9. Bob Sacamano replied to SoxAce's topic in SLaM
Yep. I’m still fucked over by it.
  10. I know lol it’s pretty comical honestly.
  11. This team can use a “really good” player in RF.
  12. Do you actually expect the Sox to sign a star or something?
  13. That would be awesome. Really set yourself up the rest of the off-season.
  14. You can’t trade someone who has accepted the QO right away. I think you have to wait until May?
  15. Even more crazy: 38 year old Verlander, who has thrown 6 innings combined the last 2 years, received a QO.
  16. If we’re trading Kimbrel for another bad salary, we should not have picked up the option and used the money towards someone good instead.
  17. If Vaughn goes for a 2B under decent control (Lowe, Marte, etc) and they sign a RF (Conforto) that would be great.
  18. I think Keuchel is what he is at this point. A soft 60-game schedule makes his 2020 season look great.
  19. Yeah he said it like a day before he accepted the QO. Easy to say that when you know you aren’t going into free agency.
  20. Can’t agree more with this.
  21. I just noticed that JD Martinez has until today to opt out of his contract. I thought that has to happen by a certain date? If he opts out, Red Sox should be able to offer a QO (like Reds just did to Castellanos).
  22. I personally think they offer him the QO. I would risk it for a year. I would rather do that than offer a big multi year deal.
