  1. Abreu (never going to get traded as long JR is owner), Moncada, Kopech and Eloy are probably on this list too.
  2. Unless a former player of this current Astros team says something in a couple years we may unfortunately never find out for sure.
  3. Honestly, I’m thinking Romy can be this kind of guy with his versatility. If you sign Taylor, he’s likely your 2B.
  4. I don’t know, to me it feels like Vaughn or Sheets will be moved if I had to guess. They could try to make it work for a year and go with a deeper bench (5 with a 7-man pen) with Sheets serving as a left-handed 1B/COF bench bat ala Ross Gload.
  5. They could have done that this year with all the injuries and large hole in RF. They didn’t. It’s pretty clear they’re not high on him as a regular outfield option.
  6. If a tough righty is on the mound, Vaughn I guess? Or in the scenario where you have Grandal at DH/1B, Vaughn goes to RF? The only thing that sucks about that is weakening defense though.
  7. Yeah I haven't received mine yet but hopefully soon.
  8. Yeah there might be some GM that shrugs off his struggles with the Sox and thinks he can be good closer. I just wouldn’t expect a high return, especially if we don’t eat any salary.
  9. Isn’t Lopez out of options now? Also, I figured I would share the free agent list if people want to browse options. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/11/2021-22-mlb-free-agents.html
  10. Yeah I always see promos like this.
  11. Of course he’s going to say that now.
  12. Eduardo Escobar please.
  13. I tend to agree with this. We already have a glut of right-handed hitting.
  14. I could definitely see him taking it and building his up innings up and value to be a free agent after 2022 at that $18.4 mill (or whatever it is) salary.
  15. 1) When will the 2022 season start: 1-30 days late Will the following players be in the Sox organization on opening day 2022 (whenever that is) Yes or No 2) Garrett Crochet yes 3) Dallas Keuchel yes 4) Craig Kimbrel no 5) Carlos Rodon no 6) Ryan Tepera yes 7) Jake Burger no 8 ) Cesar Hernandez no 9) Gavin Sheets yes 10) Leury Garcia yes 11) Eloy Jimenez yes 12) Andrew Vaughn yes 13) Yan Gomes no 14) Eduardo Escobar yes 15) Marcus Semien no 16) Kris Bryant no 17) Nick Castellanos no 18) Joc Pederson no 19) Other (specify) Conforto (I hope) Could easily see them signing Peterson and platooning him with Engel though. I think Gomes will be a starting catcher somewhere (maybe sign Chirinos like bmags suggested earlier), and only see Hernandez coming back if they re-sign him for cheaper than his option after they fail to add a 2B.
  16. This could have been true had Engel stayed healthy himself.
  17. Well there goes our off-season budget. I kid I kid.
  18. With all the injuries, it looked promising at one point.
  19. This is what I’m thinking. Guy only threw 40 innings total previous two years.
  20. Add catchers to that and I agree. Also, I’d never sit more than one regular a game if I could (obviously guys could be banged up). If your catcher is out, no one else is sitting. No more “Sunday lineups” please.
  21. Well we can expect Tony to start resting guys in April so who really knows.
  22. It’s all about gut feelings and hitting guys like Jake Lamb 3rd or 4th!
  23. Yep. Can really only go up from here
  24. Never. Gotta play and pitch your best to win. It's not like you could just sit him out all series and wait for the ALCS.
