Showed the top 5 (maybe 10) prospects pre-Betts trade and then showed the same list post-Betts (obviously no difference and just a dig at the Boston fans in the office haha).

I'd assume they'd actually want to hold onto Jansen. I liked the idea if Maeda as a swing man target since he consistently goes back and forth between rotation and bullpen but I'm not sure what I'd actually give up.

Yeah it sucks, but they can always try to re-sign him next year. I don't think he'll be close to what he is asking for from them to sign now and they could be in on the bidding.

I don't disagree that Pederson is better but from everything we've read, they really like Mazara. Dude has some serious upside with the bat. So its not shocking they wouldn't trade for someone else.

They do. They were interested at the deadline last year. So its obvious they are going to commit to him for (hopefully) 2 years.

And if Mazara sucks, he can trade for another one at the deadline if the team is doing good.

But Pederson also may not have been as available as he was when the Sox traded for Mazara. Now hes just an extra piece and they'll probably just look to shed his salary.
