  1. Not if they were commanding Vaughn at that time.
  2. If they tender him and release him by Spring Training, they only owe him what, 40% of his salary? I believe they did this with Lawrie, Viciedo, and Avi.
  3. They can technically agree to less money. The team just needs to offer 80% of the previous year's salary if it goes to an arbitration hearing.
  4. This. I'm ok with the baseball rumors but don't need the back and forth.
  5. Yeah especially when its not even funny.
  6. Being a Sox fan, I've learned to not get my hopes up at this point lol
  7. If they were to sign Springer and then trade Vaughn for a pitcher, I wouldn't mind a guy like Joc (in a platoon with Engel) splitting time with Eloy in LF and DH. Though, I would prefer just signing Brantley then but I'm not sure they would commit that much to him after signing Springer.
  8. I would rather sign Bauer but I would not be upset about signing Springer for 5 years. If they dealt Vaughn for a front of the rotation type arm, it would make it easier knowing you at least address a huge hole in the offense.
  9. I don't believe he's saying it's "Thanksgiving or bust." They just prefer to sign him by then.
  10. Well that's what GMs do. He wouldn't be doing his job haha
  11. He makes sense there on a one year deal. Just go the high AAV route like they did with Hamels.
  12. Turns 28 soon, 3 years control. What do you guys think it would cost? I assume they would want Vaughn.
  13. Rodon is a free agent after 2021.
  14. I'm sure they will build him up. And they can skip him more rest in the minors.
  15. Minor league starter managing workload. Major league bullpen by September for playoff run.
  16. Not really to be honest haha. And they have Zavala, Rodon, Mazara, Ruiz they could cut...take your pick.
  17. I don't think anyone was going to claim AND stick a guy with like 200 PAs in the past 4 years on an MLB roster for a full season. But doesn't matter now. Plenty of roster fodder that can still go and no one would care.
  18. I would guess he is still acting GM.
  19. It doesn't matter. You play him in all around in the minors to see where he can stick. At the very least, maybe he becomes a trade chip.
  20. Get him a 1B mit, get him an OF mit. Let him play all over next year in the minors.
  21. Just look at the video above and see for yourself lol
