What specifically did he do this year to earn this? Didn't add anything at the deadline that boosted the team into contention, offseason acquisitions weren't the best (aside from Kuechel and Grandal). I know he has done a good job of building the core that we have but the building wasn't done in 2020.

I think he normally starts hitting after the first 2 months from like June on. The time just wasn't there to get going.

This is where I'm at as well. Should the punishment have been harsher? Yes. Is he in a sports where guys who do a lot worse in society get second (third, fourth) chances? Yes. Will I suspect the team of cheating going forward if they hired him? No. At the end of the day, is it just a game with no real serious impacts in life? Yep. If you feel he is the best candidate, bring him in.

Does Hinch know how to handle a pitching staff? That is something that the cheating wouldn't have effected.

That would be sick. Go with Brantley in a LF/DH role (getting Eloy out of the OF more) and a platoon in RF? I guess if Vaughn demolishes the pitching in the minors and whoever they get for RF isn't hitting, you could release that guy and move Brantley to RF at some point.

Honestly, with like a month of pro ball under his belt, I wouldn't be shocked if they signed a DH to a one year deal. Or a guy, for example, Brantly or Brent Gardner if his option is declined, to DH and play some LF.
