I loved Skull Island. But I agree with the last 2 Godzillas.

The first 2 Godzilla movies focused too much on the human characters so I think it's fine that they lose focus in this one.

Didn't know where else to put this but I wish there was an opening day game tonight like they used to do. Just one game to open the year the day before everyone else plays. As a kid, it was always one of my favorite nights (minus the fact it was on ESPN).

This doesn't really say much about an extension since he is going to be on the team either way and likely changing to 99 (as he said he wanted a year ago).

They might as well continue playing against other teams' minor league players. Basically just an extended spring training.

Woke up thinking this might actually get announced today. They put him on roster, don't have to play service time games if they buy out a year or two (possible options), spring training is over and no games or other news today, they have agreed to extensions with other young players prior to season starting, etc.

Agreed. It's all just to give TLR the best roster this year while ignoring the long-term pros of him starting in the minors. Extra year of control, stretch arm out, work as a starter, manage workload where wins and losses don't matter.

I understood it before, but now with the 3 batter rule it shouldn't be as needed. Also, if you're carrying 8 (or more) relievers, you shouldn't really need a mop up guy with that deep of a pen. Maybe a couple guys who could go about 2 innings at a time if needed, but not necessarily a guy designated for the role. Just leave camp with the best 8 relievers.

I wouldn't be shocked if they sign Yolmer to a minor league deal.

I am a big fan of them starting out west and getting a west coast trip out of the way early.

I think its more to get him a quick 3 ABs and pull him. Edit: oh, only 7 innings today.
