  1. The logical, level-headed side of me says no since it's just a game. But if you're able to call off I say go for it. I personally would not use PTO.
  2. Verdugo is on the 40-man so he still applies.
  3. Damn that's a good point too. Prevent the teams better than you from getting better for the playoffs.
  4. No way those guys get through the AL. Plus Verdugo would have to pass as well.
  5. Pointless to only deal with one team. Dodgers may have thrown a really low-ball offer out there on the off change the Nats accepted. They should have traded him in July when they could negotiate with everyone.
  6. There was literally almost no chance it was going happen haha
  7. Because teams can block other teams. Example: Giants put a claim in and win it with zero motivation to even discuss a deal. Then after 48 hours, Harper gets pulled back by the Nats.
  8. Well every team can place a claim on a player. No team before the Dodgers would have won the claim?
  9. Yeah Russell on the bench as late inning defensive sub is a no-brainer. Dude's worth 2.3 WAR this season even with a bad offensive year.
  10. I've since updated my post but it doesn't look like they do this anymore.
  11. This is every game? And yes I am haha Edit: that may be true for only weekend games and opening day but not for weeknight games. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/ballpark/transportation/public-transportation "Metra's 35th Street "Lou" Jones Station along the Rock Island line provides an easy walk to White Sox home games at Guaranteed Rate Field. Weekday post-game outbound trains depart 35th Street Station at 9:52 p.m. and 11:22 p.m." I remember I went to a Friday night game after work last season with friends who live in the city. I went straight to the suburbs after. The game ended at around 10:15, I had to wait for that 11:22 train and finally got back to TP around 12:30am.
  12. Oh yeah probably this. The 40-man is currently at 38 (I think).
  13. Definitely would call him an idiot.
  14. Whoever the worst reliever is with options gets sent down and Covey goes to the pen.
  15. This doesn't shock me since he is Japanese. This seems like something straight from their culture. But it's hard for me to believe anyone would walk away from that amount of money until it actually happens.
  16. Damn I need to tailgate another game this year. I love tailgating. I went to a game earlier this year strictly to tailgate lol was drunk by the first inning of a game the Astros were up 8-0 in the second in.
  17. You're trying to tailgate? I'm going straight from work and will get there around 5:05/5:10 and my friends won't get there until around 6. I plan on grabbing a drink in the Bar & Grill until they get there. I usually avoid weeknight games due to having to go straight from work and shit train schedules at night (they run every hour or hour and a half and make every Beverly stop which means it's an hour ride for me) but I only go if a friend meets me from the suburbs with his car. Plus his company gave him free tickets for this game so I can't complain.
  18. Since it is a week night and I have to be at the office at 6:30am tomorrow, I also hope that is his line lol
  19. The Cubs would be last on the NL side right? I'm sure other teams before them claimed him as well since every team can place a claim in on a player..
  20. Not even giving the guy who started yesterday's winning gamethread a chance to make today's thread? This game is jinxed.
  21. Does Kaplan actually know that or does he just have his Cubs tinted glasses on?
  22. Ha still relevant as the other poster said that it is going to rain in Minny. And the main concern for tomorrow's game is seeing Kopech, which could be delayed a day with a rain out today. Personally I didn't even think anything of it lol
