  1. That wouldn't matter since he doesn't accrue service time in the minors. I did always wonder if he wasn't on the 40 last year if he would have come up at all last year (Red Sox added him to their 40 a season prior so he had to be on ours).
  2. I don't consider it as "taking a shot" but he is probably referring to them. No one should be surprised by that comment though.
  3. Hopefully Schoop and Shaw can play handle SS and 2B. Maybe just move Shaw to SS and that way you're only playin gone guy out of position?
  4. Lol I didn't say that would be his next stop but maybe late in is career.
  5. I did read about that one which makes me think he may end up being a Cub again *eventually.*
  6. Owed 6 mill at this point of the season is a lot. You're kinda lookin at it wrong.
  7. Does Moustakas just become a bench player now? Schoop at SS with a softball offense?
  8. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/07/orioles-reportedly-closing-in-on-another-trade.html What the?
  9. The 2018 signing period is from 18-19. The signing period starts on July 2nd. It's not just all in one day. This is a trade of 2018 allotment as, said above, you can only trade the current year allotment.
  10. Not all heroes wear capes.
  11. Man worst timing to post that kind of thread title lol Edit: for those who didn't see, it said: "Sox/Rockies Trade".
  12. I believe it's the Padres send the Sox money to cover that. If he was placed on waivers and claimed, Sox would just let him go. He would clear waivers and be in the exact spot he is now. My point: if a team could trade for now and also in the past couple months, why would it be more likely he would go next month? Especially if his schtick and selling point is that he can eat innings.
  13. No one is claiming that contract in August. Sox would just let him go at the pro-rated $20m and save money.
  14. I can't speak for everyone, but I just don't like pitchers signing for a ton of money for 7-8 years when they are in their upper-20s. Especially if they had prior arm issues in their career.
  15. Do they need to be added to the 40-man this off-season? If not, waiting until next year also helps carry around 2 extra guys in the off-season.
  16. Agreed. Winter meetings at the earliest but definitely not today (unless of course a team shocks with an overpay).
  17. Honestly, I could see it. I've chalked the Phillies up as a landing spot for a Machado (for either short or third) or Harper. Theoretically, they'd have a year of Garcia in the OF and if they landed Machado, that'd be a pretty good offense.
  18. Complaining about a player, who is currently no longer with the club, playing over him over a year ago makes him not in the wrong? Seems like he could just move past it like other players do.
  19. I'm on this side. Just be patient.
  20. I'd do it. Then Palka can have all the DH at bats.
  21. He's not right-handed.
  22. Think more along the lines of a backup corner bat.
  23. lmao they kept doing that another year with someone (I can't remember who). They were referring to the voice as: "Big Voice Guy" or something like that.
