  1. Yeah very unlikely. Shields isn't really worth anything. He'll go to a team that just needs innings until October only to be left off the playoff roster.
  2. Yeah he didn't really look injured hustling the last steps going into first. Meanwhile, Paul Goldschmidt almost ran out a ground ball to the 1B that was close enough to review.
  3. Yeah that was bad. Directly effected the outcome of the game.
  4. Need him to go on a Matt Carpenter run over the next week.
  5. Don't buy it. There's always a guy or two who gets traded mid-game and has to exit the game.
  6. I hate this. It's not sustainable over a full MLB season and you only really see it in the postseason when it's do or die.
  7. Unfortunately, it takes two to tango.
  8. I'd feel pathetic if I got carted off the field for a non-leg related injury haha
  9. I'm going to predict Jose doesn't get traded due to him playing like shit lately and Soria gets dealt for less than some are predicting on here.
  10. And this is why you don't worry about having too much depth at certain positions or worry about drafting for need.
  11. That "more control" is sort of an expensive option.
  12. Astros will try to buy-low on him (though who knows if Jose will even bounce back). Having said that, I doubt he gets traded.
  13. He's not good defensively. No more guys who can't catch the ball.
  14. Nitpicking, but its 3.5 years of Hand and either 5.5 or 6.5 years of Cimber depending on when he was called up.
  15. Packaging him with another young reliever having a good year with 5+ years of control definitely helps.
  16. That's true too. I meant more along the line so of having to choose one over the other. Signing one wouldn't have an impact on the other. Kershaw is already making $35m a year. He isn't going to make much more than that annually. He's actually owed $70m the next 2 years. You could end up seeing an extension where he may make less than than $35m a year but with more guaranteed years added on. For example: 5 years, $150m= $30m a year. More guaranteed money.
  17. Turner has experience at second and Seager did just have tj surgery on his throwing arm so he could be an option for 2B. Forsythe is a free agent after this year so that opens up 2B. Turner only has 2 years left on his deal so you only really need to stomach Machado at SS for a couple years as you could move him to 3B (if he is willing).
  18. Engel survives another day.
  19. Kershaw will definitely get more years but really only slightly more salary per year. Dudes already getting paid. They can afford both.
  20. There's only one that was truly offensive. The rest were rap lyrics and movie quotes.
  21. Dodgers still under luxury cap after deal.
  22. Yep. Makes sense to me. But Soxtalk gonna Soxtalk.
  23. MLBTR kicked around Logan Forsythe as a slight salary offset. And someone as the Orioles would just take on (figure he could handle 3B with Beckham at SS).
  24. I meant extend in the off-season. So I guess re-sign. They went under the luxury tax number this year. They'll definitely sign a Harper or Machado.
