  1. Reading your first comment, I was going to disagree with you because I thought you were referring to him being that bad. But your second sentence made me actually agree with you.
  2. Probably should have waited for it to bomb before making these comments.
  3. Yeah it sounds like they'll move him, whether that be as a non-tender or to a team in a trade for peanuts like the Tigers or some other newer rebuilding team. Controlled for 3 more years.
  4. Keep him and add someone with more personality than Stone and you have a great broadcast. If AJ ever wanted to announce, he would be perfect and I think he would bring some of the emotion that we miss without Hawk.
  5. I was going to say earlier, "better quality team = better quality broadcast."
  6. Yeah it was such a boom or bust offense this year. They mentioned it in the broadcast yesterday. Completely blow teams out or scores 0-2 runs. Not much of a grey area.
  7. Vibe around the team is that Russell has played his final team with the Cubs. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/10/addison-russell-domestic-abuse-allegations-cubs.html Add them to the list of teams that should have interest in Machado, assuming Russell is dfa'd or traded for nothing.
  8. Its amazing they didn't claim and trade for Murphy.
  9. And this is why the "(insert year here) draft thread" is the most hysterical threads to me. Everyone is an expert all of a sudden lol
  10. Yeah Yelich for MVP seems like a safe bet.
  11. Well, when Palka is in the lineup, Davidson is on the bench as a backup 1B/3B and when Palka is on the bench you have a backup corner OF. So you assume a 4-man bench would be: backup catcher, one of Palka/Davidson, hopefully Yolmer (IF), and then a 4th OF who can play CF. They have been going with a short bench the last 3-4 years though and only carrying 3 bench players. Edit: also keep in mind that it doesn't need to be a straight platoon. You could see Eloy, Abreu, whoever is at 3B, whoever is in RF get some rest at the DH spot.
  12. No thanks.
  13. Man do I wish I was off today.
  14. Especially when ours are boring. I have zero interest in visiting Detroit nor Cleveland (been there once for a game. One day was all I needed).
  15. If they pick 3rd or 4th, it doesn't really make that much of a difference.
  16. I'm confused. I want the Cubs to at least tie so they have to play a tie-breaker against the Brewers on Monday and if they lose, have to play the wild card game Tuesday.
  17. No but that's not what my initial point was. Just that cheating is all over sports and a common thing. I think it was that and being around the unfaithfulness of other players and stuff. But you are right about the religious part.
  18. A year or two into his career? Yep, I'm pretty sure. Plus he was outspoken about it at the time.
  19. Yeah in all sports, cheating is very common I would imagine. It's one of the reasons why Josh Fields wanted to walk away from baseball a year or two into his career if I recall.
  20. I believe so. He probably won't top the AAV but more money overall.
  21. Yeah people like to mention that, but when they signed Robert, payroll was lower/was going to lower after making trades (Robertson, Frazier, Quintana, Melky, every other player dealt that I can't remember since there was so many).
  22. You're not wrong. It's really not that exciting minus the couple top (overrated?) players.
  23. All work and no plays makes Jack a dull boy.
