  1. Thinking about getting into online sports betting. Is Bovada easy to use? Are there fees when you take out money?
  2. I've never seen gameplay footage of Far Cry and know absolutely nothing about it. Maybe these are games I should look into.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 30, 2018 -> 12:25 AM) Right? I rented it on a flight and it was enjoyable. The girl with the legs helped Hell yeah. Hard to believe that she is Nebula in GotG. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Mar 30, 2018 -> 02:20 AM) Jack Black playing a vain teenage girl was an easy laugh every time. Same with Kevin Hart playing a big athletic kid. Jack Black was awesome in this haha
  4. QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 01:07 PM) Somehow moneyline bet on the Sox is paying +114 today. Should be easy money. Happy Opening Day! Should be a damn fun season. Almost bet on this game lol
  5. Don't mind Davidson 4th against a lefty, although I probably would have been ok with Castillo. I think I would do: Moncada, Sanchez, Abreu, Davidson, Castillo, Delmonico and push the lefty bat down a bit.
  6. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Mar 28, 2018 -> 03:49 PM) The Show removed season mode, didn't tell anyone, didn't give a reason, and didn't apologize. And given that that was the only mode I used, I'm pretty upset. Franchise is too different to me, although I have been trying that. That said, the gameplay itself is actually much better than years past If you read reviews/follow game sites (Operation Sports), they did announce it would be out of the game.
  7. QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 28, 2018 -> 10:23 AM) Surprise: Lucas Giolito becomes the #1 and gets an all star spot Disappointment: Avisail Garcia regresses and last season was an aberration. Dark Horse: Matt Davidson takes over full time at 3rd base and brings his average up into the .260s. Is that really surprising in a rotation featuring Shields, Fulmer, Gonzalez and possibly Santiago at some point? haha
  8. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Mar 28, 2018 -> 12:28 PM) Far Cry 5 and The Show came out this week. FC5 will be arriving next week, but I'm going to finish off Far Cry 4 before I bust in to it. The Show, I did not get on launch day for the first time in like 8 years. It just doesn't change enough each year for me to be excited anymore. I'm still getting it for sure, but I'm going to wait until Operation Sports Full Minors comes out and I can restart my 2 year old franchise. If FC5 wasn't coming out, I'd have it, but I'm going to focus on FC5 first. Legit thinking about sitting this year out. You're right. Doesn't change enough. Edit: one of the biggest complaints about the game every year is the online play is trash. If they ever straighten that out...oh boy.
  9. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Mar 1, 2018 -> 02:32 PM) I'd be for it if we got a good prospect back, but given how the Dodgers operate I doubt they'd be willing to give up someone of that caliber. Them and the Yankees are in a very similar spot. Trying to stay far enough under the luxury tax to add someone mid-season potentially, want to reset their penalties so they can spend next year, have a bad contract they want to move that could help achieve these other other 2 goals.
  10. QUOTE (Lillian @ Mar 1, 2018 -> 02:22 PM) Back to the topic of this thread; I'll take Verdugo and Kemp and pay all of his remaining contract. I would too but feel like if that were a possibility for a team, it would be done by now. It would actually be funny if the Padres made a move like this since they took on his contract before when they went for it, only to dump it for another bad contract during their rebuild (which is still going on).
  11. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Mar 1, 2018 -> 12:59 PM) What do the Sox have to gain from signing Kemp if he's released? s***, I would rather give Davidson the at bats. It would make more sense for us to trade for him along with multiple prospects, take on most of his contract, and release him (you're doing this for the prospect(s) anyway) to give other at bats than to sign him and take at bats away from someone else.
  12. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Mar 1, 2018 -> 12:00 PM) I just bought tickets and never entered a code. Seats all suck though Yeah nothing really available for Opening Day (I should have bought 2 days ago) and Sox/Cubs games are expensive. I always somehow end up with free tickets to both so I'll wait it out for now.
  13. QUOTE (oldsox @ Mar 1, 2018 -> 09:12 AM) Right. Plus, if he re-declared free agency a year later, there is a new draft pick. He can't be offered a QO again under new CBA.
  14. QUOTE (GenericUserName @ Mar 1, 2018 -> 08:08 AM) I can't see him holding out two months into the year. If there is an earlier date at which the QO penalties expire I could see him holding out until then. I believe that is still the draft date unless it changed in the new CBA. I'm sure he'd still see some live pitching (players he knows around the league that aren't with a team, former teammates that may not be playing, etc) and working on defense during that time.
  15. Any chance this guy holds out until after the draft? There seems to be almost no interest on him and being a Boras client, it seems like it could be a possibility.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 28, 2018 -> 10:55 AM) Swarzak was a pending free agent who was having a breakout year. Getting Cordell for him was a big win. Agreed. And Milwaukee had a nice farm system last season. He would have been ranked higher on most teams.
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 28, 2018 -> 10:20 AM) I was going to post that but wasn't sure. Doesn't that just replace Hosmer? I think so too. Or even Moss.
  18. QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ Feb 27, 2018 -> 09:07 PM) I know he has no power, but I think Narvaez is clearly the better choice. Left handed, competent receiver, and almost always puts together a good at bat. Agreed. He almost walks as much as he ks.
  19. QUOTE (ptatc @ Feb 27, 2018 -> 01:06 PM) Most likely no. Other than 1B, it's probably the position that would have the least impact. If anything, it seems like his weight would likely limit him from future 3B.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 27, 2018 -> 11:19 AM) Jon Heyman‏Verified account @JonHeyman 41m41 minutes ago Tim Lincecum has his list of suitors whittled down to a couple teams, including a longtime rival, and is expected to make his decision within the next day or so. Doyers
  21. QUOTE (BrianAnderson @ Feb 27, 2018 -> 09:12 AM) What are peoples thoughts on Lucroy? https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/l/lucrojo01.shtml Here's a guy who has never struck out more than 100 times in a season, who has basically average a .350OBP over the past half decade, can call a decent game, and where we have a real opportunity at DH/backup 1B for him to get a good amount of AB's. I feel like we may be able to give him more AB's than most teams and is a GREAT flip candidate for anybody who loses a catcher to injury or just needs a nice super UTIL guy at C/1B/DH for a stretch run. I also think he'd out perform Castillo and could form a real nice platoon over the next 2-3 years. I'd love to have Catcher be a real strength. In 2 years when Collins is ready you hand him the keys and keep one of these guys as your backup. I'm fine with what the Sox currently have in-house. Castillo is going to get most of the at bats and I like Narvaez as a lefty compliment.
  22. QUOTE (turnin' two @ Feb 26, 2018 -> 05:08 PM) His best offer right now may be free drinks for a beer league softball team. My beer league baseball team could use Moose. A lot of our guys resemble the shape of Jake Burger.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 26, 2018 -> 02:39 PM) Never known ahead of time, but a formula based on the rookies that play this season. Yeah so teams usually wait until early June as a guesstimate.
  24. QUOTE (flavum @ Feb 26, 2018 -> 02:29 PM) So, when is the Super 2 date again? Some time at the end of May but I don't think they would be too worried about that. The extra year of control is like 10 days into the season. I think he will be anytime between those dates.
  25. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Feb 26, 2018 -> 12:57 PM) that's like a split squad lineup. yikes. Yeah looks like a day off for the regulars.
