Schoenfield links Sox to Machado, Donaldson, Price
Bob Sacamano replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 13, 2018 -> 11:39 AM) I just don't see Harper going to the Cubs. If they did they'd have to get rid of one of Bryant, Rizzo or Contreras, otherwise I'm not sure how they could have four $25M+ contracts. They wouldn't have to get rid of them. They just wouldn't be able to sign them all long-term. You'd have 3 years of Bryant, Rizzo, Contreras and Harper in the same lineup. -
QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 13, 2018 -> 08:25 AM) To be fair he wasn’t exactly good last year or in his short stint in Boston Red Sox definitely rushed him. If he wasn't called up before the trade and didn't have to be on the 40-man roster when we traded for him, would he have been called up when he was called up for the Sox?

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Apr 13, 2018 -> 02:50 AM) Wow, nice capture! Interesting he went feet-first. Wonder if that was to avoid injury or if that's his style. Avoid injury. -
UPDATE: Volstad called up, Infante reassigned to AAA

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 12:44 PM) Side note to this, that means the earliest that Rodon could come off of the DL is now May 25. I can't remember, but wasn't it always likely that it would be end of May/early June? -
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 12:54 PM) goodness. hopefully they win tonight and just fly back to Chicago. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 01:07 PM) It would be nice if the Twins did that for the Sox. Play two on June 4th and 6th, and deal with it. I'll never forget the time flavum said that for about a week straight last year only for it not to snow or rain that weekend.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 11:49 AM) I think he’s up by early June. That wouldn't be too bad of a wait.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 11:44 AM) When we have 1 game in 4 days, though? I just don't get the timing Until it actually snows and games are PPD, it's 3 in 4. But it doesn't really matter if they do it now or next week. Not really a big deal. -

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 11:29 AM) So now we have 2 long relievers, cool. Pretty necessary with the current rotation being Shields, MiGo and kids. -

QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 10:43 AM) Chicago White Sox Verified account @whitesox Following Following @whitesox More #WhiteSox purchase contract of Chris Volstad from Class AAA Charlotte; Transfer Carlos Rodón to 60-day disabled list: I was close in another thread but I did say they could do this to add someone not on the 40. -
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 09:44 AM) Any chance he is the 26th man and makes a spot start when we play the Royals in the double header? I guess it would depend on if they want to make a 40-man roster move that early or not (Rodon is currently on the 10-day dl and could probably be transferred to the 60-day). Welp, I was close.

QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 09:38 AM) Going off no facts and just a straight guess, I see it more like July. Any chance he is the 26th man and makes a spot start when we play the Royals in the double header? I guess it would depend on if they want to make a 40-man roster move that early or not (Rodon is currently on the 10-day dl and could probably be transferred to the 60-day).

I'm in a fantasy league right now with deep rosters. We have one NA spot. I have both Kopech and Eloy so I keep one on my bench. You guys think Kopech will be up in the next month, making it worth it for me to just stash him on the bench?

QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 04:02 PM) How? Thought it's a 1 year MiLB deal Because he doesn't have enough service time. According to Baseball Reference anyway. -

QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 03:57 PM) Out of curiosity, do the Sox have long-ish term control over Bruce Rondon or is he treated like a typical MLB free agent on a 1-year deal? Free agent after the 2020 season. -

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 03:54 PM) it's just bad managing from Renteria. As noted, why are you doing a squeeze with the slowest guy in your lineup? Moreover, why are you asking a kid, with limited experience that is already swimming up there at the plate, to execute something he probably has done less than 3-4 times in his entire baseball career? It's not putting guys in a position to succeed. You can expect players to 100% execute or imo you can be pragmatic and realize their weaknesses. Bad on Ricky imo. Very bad. Disheartening that he is still so bad tactically imo. If hes coming home on the pitch its pretty much a run as long as it isn't back at the pitcher. -

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 03:53 PM) Love how Renteria is trying to fully put it on Moncada instead of realizing that squeeze bunting is usually dumb. Should be a free run if you have a guy who can actually get the bunt down. -

QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 03:43 PM) Moncada pulled his bunt back on a suicide squeeze. Narvaez hung out to dry. Then he of course struck out. Is that on the coach or on the player for being dumb? 100% has to be on the player. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 02:53 PM) If you take the weather, the opponents, and the results, it has to be one of the worst homestands they have ever had. Also the fact it was the opening homestand. -
QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 10:25 AM) Agreed. 2-3 years ago was the first time we had seen some of these prospects and the allure was enticing. Just like any prospect, we are seeing what they truly are a couple of years later. Good power but there's a LOT of swing and miss in that lineup. Yeah Happ probably shouldn't be leading off or playing CF. I think they'll send him down eventually.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 09:10 AM) Revolution Brewing room down the LF line isn't a bad hang out either although if you aren't there early, the line to get in goes down the stairs. Waiting in line while at a game sort of defeats the purpose of going to the game. Yeah, home opener sucked this year.
