  1. Who is the other one then? Without looking it up, my guess is Joe Kelly.
  2. World Series roster or just the roster in general (Pedroia)?
  3. Then they'er in a good position to where if they go over, it isn't much a big deal. Just didn't have time to go and check and see if they were ever over.
  4. I'm thinking Dodgers. Edit: technically the Sox are a big market club...just saying. But Machado's post from this morning or yesterday seems like a good bye post.
  5. It was PPD a few days. I think they will work something out.
  6. "Question 1: how do you feel about Jose Abreu?" Ron: "......I'll show myself out."
  7. Right. I understand that. That's why I questioning if they reset it or not. Teams like the Dodgers and Yankees reset it last year with clear plans of going over again. When you're a cash cow, it doesn't really matter much if you are over.
  8. I think they'll work something out where they buy-out his option (Rangers are on the hook for that $6m, but only the buy-out) and then the Cubs bring him back at $14m. So he would earn the same amount but the Rangers pay $6m of his contract instead of the Cubs paying all $20m. Edit: it also doesn't matter if they go over this year. Were they over it last year? Did their penalty for being over the threshold reset if they were over prior years?
  9. What sounds better: a) signing a player that is 30 or 31 years old (Cano and Pujols as reference) to a 10-year deal or b) signing a 12-year deal to a player that is 26? Honestly, I think my preference is B. Almost all of the prime years instead of the back part of the prime and a free agent at a slightly younger age.
  10. He's easy to root for and produced at the plate (despite lack of power)? And he was probably our better defender and framer of the group so that matters for the pitchers, even if he was unlikely to be on the team after next year.
  11. Free agents can sign with new teams until about 10 days after. Edit: here's the official timeline: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/10/the-mlb-offseason-begins-2.html
  12. They submitted a presentation to Ohtani. But you're right that they didn't meet face to face.
  13. You're definitely not alone.
  14. Bob Sacamano replied to Kyyle23's topic in SLaM
It pretty much was the first movie minus a main character being prepared for him.
  15. Same. Don't really mind him as a defensive sub I guess.
  16. I would like for them to non-tender Avi and sign a stop-gap like McCutchen on a 2-year deal but I doubt they non-tender Avi.
  17. Yeah, weird that Freese would be hitting lead off instead of like 3rd.
  18. I don't understand this comment lol Pearce has always mashed lefties. He's a pretty great platoon bat for a team in need of a corner outfielder/1B to go with a lefty.
  19. No team that has Kiké Hernandez hitting 3rd deserves to win.
  20. Care to elaborate?
  21. I don't think I would want Ryu. Seems like he always spends time on the dl.
  22. I'm sure Machado is close to a lot of guys in baseball.
