QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 17, 2016 -> 09:15 AM) The question is who sits for Sands? Melky or Avi? Melky probably makes more sense from a splits standpoint, but I hate taking our one hot bat out of the lineup. Yeah and I'd hate to give Eaton/Jackson a day off. I would say Avi personally.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 17, 2016 -> 08:44 AM) Going against the lefty today, I want Sands & Saladino in the lineup. I have a feeling they both will be.

QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Apr 16, 2016 -> 11:09 PM) I just hope the Sox are proactive in bringing in another legit middle of the order big bat. Take some pressure of the pitching staff. They can't expect the pitchers to keep shutting down the opponents every game. Bringing in "another legit middle of the order big bat" may mean Anderson and/or Fulmer is out the door. -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 17, 2016 -> 07:23 AM) Despite the team being 8-3 it is pretty obvious they are no more, than a 65-70 win team. Just from what I hav read here, there are a lot of problems. Eaton, Lawrie clubhouse cancers Avila, Fraizer, Cabrera, Rollins washed up The league has figured out Abreu Avi is one of the worst players in baseball Jerry Sands serves no purpose They have Danks in the rotation and Petricka, Duke, Putnam in the bullpen You know it is just a matter of time with Latos Even Chris Sale is too much of a hot head and should go away. Finally they are managed by a stooge. 8-3 with 9 games in the road is OK, but despite all these horrible players and manager and coaches, it clearly should be better. The fans deserve better. I don't think it's people think we deserve a record better than 8-3, but just that when it comes to facing good teams we may not sustain and hold onto a lot of these 1 run, low-scoring wins we've had.
-
Seeing as though this team is going to rely on their pitching the most, they don't really have room for a "typical" fifth starter that Danks is. Sure he will eat innings and turn in a good performance every now and then, but it's the games like today that hurt. This coming from someone who has supported him coming into this season. The team needs a) to bump Danks from the rotation (is this person in the organaization?) and b) trade for a hitter if we are thinking about contending. Especially if the offense keeps hitting this way.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 16, 2016 -> 01:33 AM) I wouldn't object. I want a bat but it's always BPA. Agree and this organization has been great with arms lately so it's hard to not want them to draft more arms. Once you have yourself a surplus, you can always trade for other positions of need.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 08:50 PM) I don't want to jinx it, but the timely hitting we've seen so far is reminiscent of 2005. I love the timely hitting but overall I really hope this team starts hitting better soon.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 08:37 PM) So happy Danks didn't pitch tonight. Big win! 8-2! Yeah we likely would have lost this game like 2 or 3-1 or something. -

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 08:25 PM) That's picking up your teammates. Rollins has saved us again Yep. Many have complained about him so far but he may be the difference of 2-3 games so far. -

Rollins haters eat crow! Smart baserunning got us that run. Bring Sale back out for the ninth. -

QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 07:59 PM) There are rules about ad breaks now... gotta speed the game up. Well just the pointing right at the incident is weird. Other games I've seen this happen in, they don't show that part and just show the players warming up. -

Not blaming Jose, but he never handles the low throws well. Never really see him pick it and the ball usually pops out of his glove on really low throws. -

QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 01:15 PM) A plastic flask and a bag of your own peanuts really alleviates a good portion of the ballpark costs. Yeah those bags outside the stadium are like half the price and double the size. -

QUOTE (gosoxgo2005 @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 01:04 PM) I've been to both home games already. I live in Chicago now, so this summer I plan on going to a game a homestand. It's a 6 dollar trip to and from on the El for me, DIRT cheap tickets, and I'll get a couple of brats. Can do the whole night for like $30 bucks if you don't drink, which I don't on weeknight games. On weekend games I'll spend $100 bucks on alcohol no problem $7 (5 on Sundays) in the corners for the win. If the crowd is under 25.000 they don't check tickets. I've taken advantage of that a lot over the past few years. Plus free parking on a random side street about less than a mile away from the stadium. My trips to the stadium are pretty cheap unless I bring a current girlfriend with me lol -

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 12:17 PM) It would be awesome as hell if the Sox swept this series too. All I know is that the fans need to come out and support this team. I know I will whenever possible. I'm usually good for about 10-15 games. Even with a normal job now and no desire to go to weekday games, I still plan on going to around 15. -

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 08:05 AM) I'll be pissed as s*** if we get swept by the Rays while starting Sale and Q and missing Archer. Take 2 out of 3. Me too. Rays are bad. It would a horrible feeling to be swept. -
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 07:57 AM) The Sox would trade Saladino straight up for Reddick 100% of the time and it isn't debatable. 100% this. Saladino is a backup on this squad. We can find another.
-
QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 07:33 AM) Unless Danks lands on the DL, he will be in the Sox rotation. He will have some really good games mixed with some really bad games, just like he has been doing the last few years. Gonzalez best chance of becoming a Sox full time starter will be next season after Danks and possibly Latos are gone. Sox can keep him stashed at Charlotte until then. That's true. I really hadn't considered that idea. He could be a cheap 5th starter option next season.
-
QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 04:06 PM) It would have to get really bad for that to happen. I just don't see it, and some of that goes into the loyalty argument with JR. Him being pulled from the rotation is much more likely, hopefully sooner than later. Probably true.
