  1. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 20, 2017 -> 11:59 AM) My pleasure. Basically every social media post/info people have been using is fake or from an unreliable source unless it's a baseball writer we all know about. To this point, the only concrete social media information there is lies in Robert's Instagram account, on which he has indeed followed a couple White Sox fan pages. I just blue myself
  2. Also I think it's stupid if a team goes over the cap it doesn't matter until future years. That's idiotic but it is what it is.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2017 -> 11:38 AM) https://mobile.twitter.com/RyanMcGuffey/sta...729426323099651 I stand corrected, did not see that tweet. I now see why you say that he feels Cards have him
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2017 -> 11:30 AM) - McGuffey says Cards offer more - someone remarks gut tells him money wins out - McGuffey says gut is probably right How does that not show that McGuffey thinks the Cards get him McGuffey just stated that he heard the Cards offered him a significant deal. Nothing was said about a White Sox deal being less (unless he said this elsewhere). The remark about guy saying he signs where ever the most money comes in response to him saying something about one offer not compared to any others. McGuffey says guy is probably right. How does that indicate anything about the Sox offer being less? He very well could mean he thinks the Cards are front runners but he could just mean what it seems like whoever offers the most will get him. He heards of one offer not the other
  5. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 20, 2017 -> 11:15 AM) In case anyone didn't know, the Instagram DM thing was from a "create fake Instagram DM's!" application. The biggest sign is that the messages were at the top of the screen rather than the bottom, which is where they go when a conversation first starts. Jose doing the real investigative work for us. You the real MVP
  6. If we land Robert, let's just keep Q. After reading the article I just want him to stay and make the haters shut up. Dude is a stud that get no respect, or run support for that matter. I wouldn't be upset if we got a good package for him but honestly I'm currently in the corner to just keep him.
  7. Alright fellas get ready for the ride, just temper expectations to in case. Will ease the let down if he signs elsewhere. That said go get em Hahn!
  8. Whatever you do don't put this guy on the banner!
  9. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 7, 2017 -> 07:02 AM) Hitting .389/.441/.778, 236 wRC+ since the thread was started. Jose must read soxtalk and really wants to show Ron he cares
  10. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 5, 2017 -> 07:36 AM) I've been as skeptical of Avi as anyone but I'm at least starting to think this might have a chance of not being a complete fluke(avioulsy he's not going to put up a .371 average all year, etc). We all know the story at this point with the strike zone discipline being very much the same but the launch angles and what not being extremely different so I'm interested to see where this goes from here on out. It's still a small sample size and he could fall completely on his face but I'm paying attention more at this point. Ha Aviously I like it. I really feel like he has turned the corner. I don't think he is a top 10 hitter in the AL but I do feel he is finally living up to some of his hype. I check his stat line every game as I am rooting heavily for him. Always have been a fan of his.
  11. Loving this hot start by Avi. I've been a huge fan of his blindly hoping he finally gets it. I know it's only 2 weeks but I really hope this continues. Also what is a Maddux haha
  12. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 31, 2017 -> 05:29 PM) It's not like anyone is forced to read this thread. Just don't open it if you don't want to. It's that's simple. It's like a drug, I think we all need an intervention Also I think it's even worse when we have a thread closed on Q, then a tweet comes and a new one opens. IT's a vicious cycle haha
  13. I absolutely hate this thread... I come back every single time I open Google Chrome, to read the same things over and over thinking it will be different this time. I see 2 pages since last visit oh it's going to be different, something new has to be happening. Nope same thing. Curse you thread curse you. I know I should just stay away but I can't help it.
  14. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Jan 28, 2017 -> 09:15 PM) Same for me. They have to establish a decent rotation and have some long relief to maintain interest from the fan base. Once the Sox trade Quintana and Frazier they aren't going to be getting back any top prospects for other players. That is when the rebuild changes gears and the Sox have to sign some (decent) free agents to fill out the starting rotation and the line-up. The Bourjos signing looks (to me at least) to be a clear sign that Hahn does not expect to trade for or acquire a decent outfielder prospect before the season starts. That's kind of depressing. How does Borujos signal that? Any prospect traded for prior to the season likely won't be in the majors to start the year, so how is signing a defensive first OF signalling he won't acquire an OF prospect?
  15. QUOTE (GermanSock @ Jan 26, 2017 -> 05:13 AM) bregman plus a bag of balls. I'd hold out for a washing machine
  16. IT'S AVI TIME BABY! .356/.400/1.000 45 hr, 27 SB, 40 2 SB Traded at deadline for Kris Bryant and Schwarber
  17. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Dec 29, 2016 -> 12:06 AM) Threads thig bug should have a summary every 25 pages. I'm curious to see where talks are at, but I'm sure as hell not gonna read through that many pages. I'll do my best NYY is apparently very interested in Q and "D Robby", according to sources. According to GM they are not interested at all. Talks are very serious, but they haven't talked at all. The Cubs are going to be competitive for 5 years at least, the Cardinals are just as good or close. Pirates and Yankees 3 team trade. Mariners line up pretty fair. Probably some personal attacks, and warnings for them. We aren't doing an actual rebuild we just wanted to rid the clubhouse of Drake fans. Quintana is very underrated by guys people that don't like Sabermetrics and people that aren't fans of the team. Bregman isn't coming her. Q could or could not be more valuable at the deadline or next off season. I think that covers it
  18. As a fellow Type 1 I am rooting heavily for him. Oh plus he is on the Sox now. Let's go Bete Bro!
  19. Will miss him, thought he could fit with our competing timeline with his contract. But the return was there so unfortunately he's gone. Glad he is going to DC though as I get those games and they are ready to compete.
  20. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:07 AM) Timo Perez is a World Series champion.thus, a World Series caliber player OR Geoff Blum is a World Series champion, thus a World Series caliber player. OR What the f*** are you talking about? OR Ask Miami how their 4 year deal with Ozzie went. OR I cant wait to see who else the Sox get. Which one is most applicable? He was saying that since Ozzie final year and a half we've been a joke, not since he left. There is a difference so not that one.
  21. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 08:05 PM) Born May 27, 1968: Frank Thomas Born May 27, 1995: Yoan Moncada 5/27/1968 5+2+7+1+9+6+8= 38 5/27/1995 5+2+7+1+9+9+5= 38 Coincidence???
  22. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 11:07 PM) Yes, you would be obligated to change it to whoever he gets traded for. Or ThePosterFormerlyKnownAsJose
  23. Are we sitting at 13th pick as of right now? When do protected picks end?
  24. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Sep 26, 2016 -> 02:13 AM) Ugh, this is so f***ed up. Some guys and I were talking at work. Who the last young star to die in pro sports? Closest I could think of was Oscar Tavares, but even though he was the #1 prospect in the sport, he wasn't a star yet. My buddy mentioned some basketball player, but I don't follow that sport. EDIT: Sean Taylor comes to mind now. Yes Sean Taylor is who comes to mind instantly for me. Other guy wasn't a superstar but was a starter in the majors would be Nick Adenhart.
  25. Truly sad event. Major talent and seemed like a great guy.
