I think Sale either gets shipped for Bregman +, or a pretty damn good package of prospects from AA or under from some team.

I'm starting to become okay with the idea of obtaining a plethora of great prospects AA and under in lieu of receiving a teams absolute best prospect. It helps to remember that we're dealing with teams who have done a fantastic job of developing players. I could still see the Astros parting with Bregman in a deal, but the rest of the suitors that are out there, it just seems like they're married to their #1 prospect. A lot of these guys have graduated anyway, and it might be better for the Sox to grab players who are still 1-2 years away to maximize any new window of opportunity they might create. Unless the Sox plan on competing next year (which they very well might), it makes no sense to be wasting years of a Benitendi or a Turner on teams that are still a few years from competing. As awesome as it would be to have one of those guys, instead get the guys who are going to be the next "untouchables" in 1 or 2 years. Hopefully the posturing by all the teams will lead to a deal like this. Hahn and all the other teams sticking to their guns, and finally Hahn says "well fine, if we can't get X player, I want A B C and Y Z players." It should seem more "reasonable" to the other teams. Should be a fun week here, everyone. Fasten your seat belts for drama central...

I think the time to sell Frazier is now. Despite the ability for some teams to overpay at trade deadlines, he's still much more valuable in a full season then he is in 2 months plus maybe the playoffs. If you can flip him for a better package of prospects then we gave up to get him, I think that's a no brainer unless the Sox are thinking of trying to extend him through a rebuild. Robertson depends on how teams value him. If there's no really interesting offers out there, I say keep him and see if he can have a solid 1st half, then try to sell him at the deadline.

I freakin' love Adam Eaton and I doubt the Sox are looking to trade him, but it's the same kind of thing with the rest of our elite young, cost controlled players: If someone wants to bowl us over with an offer, let them. I'm not for trading Eaton, per se, but if the Nationals were entertaining the Pirates demands for McCutcheon, they might be more willing to pay that price plus a some more for a younger guy like Eaton instead with more years of control. I wouldn't be against a solid offer from another team for Eaton.

Honestly, if the Dodgers want to attach a Puig to the deal, Urias better be coming back. I think he has negative value in that he seems to be a cancerous player, and on top of that he doesn't even perform that well. Attaching him to a deal to acquire Sale should mean Urias +++. Getting the Sox to take Puig off of their hands only hurts their ability to bargain with prospects. If I were the Dodgers and I needed to dump Puig, I'd explore any alternative possible other than attaching him to a deal for one of the best pitchers on the planet.

Naturally, we all want the Sox to win the trades. But for some of us it may not be as difficult to role play as you might think, ChiliIrishHammock. We all know that whatever happens in our simulation, none of it is real. I can roleplay Dombrowski and intend to make the best out of the Red Sox situation, even if I'm a White Sox fan. Your ideas are certainly not discounted, however, but I think it'd be cool if several people capable of role playing in this fashion from this site played along.

I would recommend holding off on trade talks until all major GMs are taken: Copelella, Avila, Silverman, Cashman, Rizzo, Zaidi\ Edit: and maybe making trade talks private? IDK how serious you want to be about this.

Love Sale, and I also love it when great Sox players finish out their career in a White Sox uniform. Potential Hall of Famer in the making. The sad reality is that the circumstances have gotten the better of the Sox. You can get a franchise altering deal for Sale. I don't care if Sale is a hothead, and he's definitely not a cancer. He cares about winning. Whatever team that gets him is getting a guy who wants to play in the playoffs SO badly, he probably wants to try to do what Madison Bumgarner has done because he knows he's capable of it. If Sale is traded, we will always remember him as a White Sox first, even if he wins a championship with another team. I'll always root for him, and be a fan of his. He's one of our own, even if he goes a bit nuts sometimes and cuts up jerseys or talks smack about KW. Bittersweet will be the emotion. Sad to see him go, happy to see a bunch of fresh new faces giving greater hope for the future of White Sox baseball.
